Noisy and dated hotel
This hotel is noisy and run down. The food wasn't great either. Everyone we talked to the week we stayed at this hotel agreed that they would never stay here or reccomend it to anyone. We have stayed at lots of all inclusive hotels all over Mexica and Puerto Vallarta and this place is not the stars it says it is. The only thing it has going for it is the beautiful location and proximity to Bucerious. The Fat bike rentals outside the hotel is highly recommended, and the wonderful on the beach massage place in the green tents. ( neither are affiliated with the hotel ) The massages were on the beach towards Bucarious. Our hotel was noisy all of the time , we had no hot water the whole week as it came out Luke warm at the best. The shower stall leaked water everywhere all of the time and the hotel was very stingy with towels in the room and beach towels. It was hard to get a reservation at the restaurants . Our door to our room had a massive gap at the top and you could hear noise from everywhere. Hotel lobby furniture is dated and check in was slow. Don't book this hotel!

Great experience
We visited this resort February 2023. Had a bit of a miscommunication regarding rooms but was quickly resolved with help from the front desk. Food, drinks, staff, pools and surrounding grounds were excellent. As a non smoker, appreciate the designated smoking areas. Yes, chairs fill quickly but lots of beach loungers available so never had a problem finding a place to relax! Returning this March for 2 weeks and can’t wait to be back!!

It looks like a nice place to stay.
When we checked into the Crystal Grand it was late Saturday night. We were given a map to find our room. Actually we had to find our building first which was number 6. They could have explained that the first number was for the building.6405 means 6th building, 4 for the level and 05 the room. I have no idea how old this hotel is, but one indication is the electric panel outside our room is incurring rust. Don t mind being short on hand towels but it would be great if the floor could be swept. Got tired of wiping sand off my feet before I climbed into bed. Please if you cannot sweep the floor just leave a broom in the room. Thanks Biggest concern is difficulty trying to book a room for the Grill for the fine dining experience. While there a man told me he pays someone on staff some extra money to secure a place for him to dine at The Grill every night of the week. This may explain why others find it difficult to make a reservation.

Mediocre hotel, amazing entertainment staff
The hotel its self could use some improvement. The beds aren’t the most comfy and the food could use more variety. The best part about our experience was the entertainment. Edgar specifically was the most genuine, welcoming and entertaining person I’ve ever met. He works very hard to make sure everyone is having the best time.

Mixed Experience, But Some Bright Spots – Ideal for Older or More Relaxed Travelers
I recently stayed at the Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta with a large group, and while there were some highlights, the overall experience didn’t quite meet my expectations when compared to other resorts I’ve visited. There were some areas that really stood out, but unfortunately, a few issues left me feeling disappointed. Food: The food was pretty good overall, so no major complaints there. However, the service in the restaurants left something to be desired. It’s typical at most resorts for servers to pour you a glass of water and take drink orders as soon as you sit down, but that wasn’t always the case here. Many times, meals at the buffet went by without any server approaching, leaving me without a drink with my meal. Wi-Fi: The Wi-Fi was another downside. It was unreliable throughout the resort—whether in the rooms, by the pools, or in the lobby. The connection often dropped, and at times the network wasn’t even discoverable for minutes. When I could connect, the speed was slow and laggy, which was frustrating. A la Carte Reservation System: Reservations for the a la carte restaurants must be made online through a QR code at the concierge desk, but the system defaults to Spanish, and changing it to English isn’t straightforward. Combined with the poor Wi-Fi, this made the reservation process unnecessarily difficult. Service & Atmosphere: The general atmosphere among the staff was underwhelming, with many appearing unmotivated. There were a few notable exceptions, however. I want to give a special shout-out to the entertainment team, especially Edgar and Damian. These guys were absolute highlights of our trip. Their energy, enthusiasm, and overall vibe made a huge difference, and the resort is lucky to have them. I really wish there were more people like them on the staff—they were engaging, fun, and genuinely made the experience more enjoyable & I think they do the best job with what they have to work with. Entertainment & Activities: The resort seemed to cater more to an older crowd (50-60+), and the daytime activities were relatively limited compared to other resorts. The evening shows started early (8:00 PM) and were relatively short (30-45 minutes). Afterward, the resort essentially died. The Sky Bar and Sports Lounge were the only late-night options, staying open until 1:00 AM, but neither had much happening—just a small pool table & some seating in the Sports Lounge and a pool with some seating at the Sky Bar. Once the bars closed, the only option left was to head to the beach. That said, the last couple of days of our stay improved significantly. We got to enjoy a foam pool party, and the interactions with Edgar and Damian were fantastic. It definitely elevated the overall experience for us. Overall: While the food was decent, the lack of attentive service, unreliable Wi-Fi, and limited activities left me feeling underwhelmed. If you’re looking for a more active or youthful vibe, I’d suggest maybe exploring other options in Puerto Vallarta. However, if you’re after a more relaxed, quieter experience and enjoy good interactions with the right staff (like Edgar, Damian), this might be a better fit.
