JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar - Never agin
My wife and I recently stayed at the JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar for our anniversary, and unfortunately, our experience was less than pleasant. When we arrived, the check-in process was underwhelming. We had paid for the upgraded suit and expected to check in via the VIP area, but we were told it was busy and had a standard check-in. While not a problem by itself but it was the beginning of a poor experience. Speaking of the room, it wasn’t what I expected. While the pictures online looked nice, our suite felt a bit outdated. Many of the wall USB chargers didn’t work and we ended up having to charge our phones in the bathroom. The patio overlooking the ocean and pool was large and visually the nicest part of the room. Our room came with two butlers to help with accommodations and again another disappointment. During check-in our butler set up a WhatsApp chat with us, himself and the afternoon butler. We were told to text him with any requests. Our first request was to help with reservations with dinner for the week. We were told that the restaurant didn’t accept reservations except hibachi and to ‘get there early’. We had a group coming in later that week and asked if he could help with a reservation for hibachi later in the week. We were told that it was closed on Thursday. On Thursday, we went to the steak restaurant and see that hibachi was open and that our hostess at the steak restaurant helped us get into hibachi with a party of 11. Our afternoon butler was much more effective than the daytime one. On Friday we wanted to try another restaurant and mentioned it to the second butler who went to the restaurant to put our names in and told us to get there in 45 mins. The food at all the restaurants was good but not great. Throughout the course of the week, we used the drinking glasses and housekeeping took the dirty glasses and they never replaced them. By the end of the week, we were drinking wine out of the coffee cups as the coffee maker was broken hence the clean cups. The pools were nice, but the poolside service wasn’t very good. Other areas of note, the gym at the facility was nice but it was very small and not mentioned that the gym was in the other building which was a 10 min walk. It was very small and got very crowded. In the evenings, the resort had very little after hours activates other than what was scheduled in the theater. If there were activities our butler did not inform us. The lobby bar was nice but the service was very slow while not crowded. Our checkout was equally inadequate. Our checkout was 12 and our transportation to the airport was scheduled to pick up at 1. We were told we’d have someone at our room at 12 to pick up our bags. At 1215, no one showed I contacted the butler, but no response then called the front desk. At 1230 still no one showed so I just took the bags to the front desk to check out. While this wasn’t an issue in itself, being told to expect something at a given time was disappointing. All in all, this was undoubtable one of the worse experiences in an all-inclusive resort. I view my time off and discretionary funds very limited, so I do expect a certain level of service. This experience did not live up to my expectations and I want others to be equally aware of your return on investment.

Staff and everybody were excellent exceeded expectations special call out to Valentina, Cedric and Oshane (Nova). Not only did we have a great time, but made some friends for life.

Iberostar Joia Jamaica, amazing sisters trip and glad we picked this adult only resort. Never saw a child or heard them
We were treated like Royalty. We stayed in the Oceanfront butler suite. More about the butlers later. I had only one issue and it was due to a guest over filling the tub in the floor above my room, causing a link in my ceiling. I contacted my butler and it was taken care of immediately. There is nothing I could find to complain about. The service was incredible the food was outstanding no matter which restaurant we choose to eat at. We always left feeling full and satisfied. We did order room service one night when we returned from an excursion to the Luminous Lagoon and did not get to the hotel until nearly midnight and everything else was closed and the room service was just as good as if we were sitting in the restaurant its self. My sister said she wished we had more time so she could order room service again because it was so good. The mini bar was filled everyday, We had sprite, coke, water many types of beer including the Jamaican beer, Red Strip and even Heineken. They had a small bottle of Rum Cream and 2 bottles of wine in our room as well. They have 3 different pools and a beautiful beach with activities available. We went to 2 different shows including a really nice Aqua Ballet show in the pool on Saturday night, If you cannot get enough to drink and eat at this beautiful resort there it has to be you because it is not what the resort has to offer. I order some off the wall drinks and they made them. My favorite is still the Dirty Banana. The Hibachi dinner was exciting and fun and each coarse was as good or better than the one before (except the rice) lol because I don't like rice. You must make a reservation for this one. Now on to the Butlers. WOW ! We had round the clock butlers, the changed out every 8 hours. They kept in touch with us all day via whats app and they also found us no matter where we were at from the gift shop to the restaurant or the shows. Always asking how our trip was and what could they do to make it better. The two that we interacted with the most was Rohan and Andre. I did not see the butlers on the 11 pm-7 am shift. I am sure they were out and about helping but I was using in my room during that time as we did activities each day and we were pretty exhausted by 11 pm. The Jamaican restaurant at the beach not only had Jamaica dishes but Lobster tail that was delicious. There was a wide range of ages and cultures at the resort. Single travelers, groups, honeymoons etc. I saw nothing to indicate that there was anyone that was not welcomed to the resort and taken care of very well.

Incredible Stay at Joia – Highly Recommend!
We just had an amazing 4-day stay at Joia, the adults-only section of the Iberostar resorts in Montego Bay. Just 30 minutes from the airport, the resort was beautiful, the food was excellent (especially the Jamaican, Hibachi, steakhouse, and buffet), and the service was top-notch. I wanna give a huge shoutout to our butlers, Berris and Andre, who went above and beyond to make my mom’s birthday special—decorating our room, arranging champagne, pressing our outfits, and staying in constant contact to ensure everything ran smoothly. They even helped resolve an airport transfer issue for us! The resort also had fun entertainment—nightly DJs, a nightclub, and a fire-dancer at the all-white party. We left feeling relaxed and celebrated. Choose Joia—you won’t regret it!

Highly Recommend
We highly recommend Iberostar Jamaica. We came on our Honeymoon and had the best time. They are incredibly hospitable. We loved having Omar and Christopher as our butler's. But huge shout out to Mr. Fresh for making our trip the most memorable! We will definitely be coming back!
