    Joy at JOIA!

    JOIA is for couples only (max 2 people per room), with a spacious bathroom (garden tub, shower, two sinks, toilet), decorated sleeping area, relaxing sitting area, and furnished balcony (couch and hanging loveseat). Mini bar frig is well stocked with sodas, juices, beer, and wine. Snacks (chips/pretzels) and coffee maker are provided. Housekeeping restocks these items every day or so; you can also call for more glass bottles of water. This is an all-inclusive resort with restaurants, bars, and even a coffee shop (open 6am-10pm?). Room service is available, but we didn't use it. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The long stretch of beach is nice for walking. You can also visit Iberostar Selection Suites next door for meals, bars, and entertainment; you can use the interior hallway to walk between the hotels. (Note: Iberostar Waves is also open, but still undergoing renovations in some areas due to hurricane damage.) One new feature to JOIA (since our last stay a few years ago) was having the room key sensor on our wristbands! (No misplacing the room keys anymore!) Overall it seems the JOIA hotel fared well after Hurricane Melissa (October 28). Many of the staff sustained damage to their homes and extended family's homes. Please consider booking at this resort for a very enjoyable experience and also to support the employees/staff in their hurricane recovery.

    The most amazing pre-Christmas Week!

    This was my 9th year and my second time this year back to JOIA Iberostar Montego Bay Jamaica. I am never disappointed, except when I have to leave. It literally breaks my heart every time. I am a member at Iberostar, but even before my membership, my service has always been exceptional. Because I am woman that comes alone (even when meeting my significant other there), I am alone, and the protection, safety, care, watch, love and hospitality makes me feel like the safest woman on the planet. My care starts one week out from my Prestige Concierge Team Deirdran who makes all of my arrangements even before my feet touch the resort. She checks me, and schedules me for an amazing week. My Butlers, Gary, Ralston, Rennardo and Rohan, let nothing go untouched from the start of my morning to the activities throughout the day, and even my in room courtesies. Every day they make my BIRTHDAY! ALWAYS A SURPRISE! My Ambassador Valentine is the absolute best. He never lets me want for anything, and makes everything happen for me to pamper, cater, lavish and make me feel like the most special person in the world. He never not smiles, he is never not pleasant, and he never not goes out of his way to answer my questions and make sure that I am smiling. My Team at Iberostar, including my Member Services Manager Marsha-Lee, my beach concierge Melissa, Donovan and Shelisha, AND THE CHEF (DELICIOUS) truly know me. I am family. They are family and I LOVE MY IBEROSTAR FAMILY. This resort is amazing to me, and for all that they have come through, they let nothing go by the wayside and went above and beyond to give their level of excellence. Me and my boo had an amazing time, and met amazing people that added value to my life! I have made friends for life from all over the world! No regrets. See you in July for my 50th!

    Great people and service.

    Great facilities. Excellent people and service. Donovan at the Prestige area at the beach is exceptionally caring and attentive. Same with Valentine, Tanya, Berris and Devon at the Prestige Lounge. Only slight negatives would be the muddy/weedy water at the beach. Food selection and quality 7/10.

    Relaxation and rejuvenation at its best!

    First of all, it was amazing. From the first day to the last of our 7 day stay. When came with no intentions of joking the “The Club”, but when we did, a whole world of opportunities opened up! From our ambassadors (Valentine/Asani/Zen) to our butlers RuShane (Tiny), Dwayne , Jaime and Trevor. They all made the experience worth every flight delay we encountered coming and going. So much so, we are coming back in February! You have fans for life!
