    Del mar accessibility

    The resort is massive, so if you’re a wheelchair user like myself I’d recommend renting a scooter, but there is a lack of pool and beach chairs so I’d recommend renting a cabana. I did notice a few other accessibility issues that need improvements like reduced accessible public washrooms and I wish there was an outside bar instead of just the pool bars

    Great Week spent at Iberostar Waves Paraiso Del Mar

    Stayed in 11 Block rooms were great and close to pool,beach, lunch buffet and smokehouse restaurant. Had dinner at Italian, French, Mediterranean, Brazilian, Smokehouse, Japanese and Buffet. All were delicious. Had a great dinner and show at the Japanese restaurant. Our Chef Estaphan did a great job. Would definitely return to this resort as the 9 of us that travelled together had a wonderful time. Jim

    fun no make that FUN!!! for the whole family

    Laura our ambassador was very sweet and VERY helpful Carlos out star prestige rep was also very helpful.... the food was good my 2 favorites were brazil steakhouse and the taco restaurant at the market....the star of the trip was Santiago the swim up bartender at the members only pool.... he was funny and ingenious at making up cocktails ... i asked for something for my breakfast drink he gave me a M&M ( delicious) I went golfing and came back with a sore back (that should tell you how my round went) and said i need pain medicine and mixed up double shots of everything.... our 2 granddaughters(ages 8 and 5) also liked him as they would swim up and he would make them virgin daiquiris and others yummy drinks.... this vacation was perfect and you can bet WE WILL RETURN!!!

    Good Value with Room for Improvement

    1. This is a timeshare resort and the sales pitch was overwhelming. It was hard to use the concierge if you did not want to do their meal and 3 hr sales pitch which they are sneaky about. Then tried every day. People continually walking around trying to see picture packages and the spa. It distracts from enjoying vacation 2. Needs better restaurant reservations system and all restaurants should take reservations. It was not close to capacity but we still waited over 2 hrs to be seated for 6 people at the French restaurant after checking in 15 mins after opening 3. There should be more non buffet options for breakfast and lunch daily. The mall tacos and burgers where very good just far 4. Building 19 was great, close to food and lobby bars, quite 5. We noticed the last day that our safe was not attached to the wall at all and someone could easily pick it up and walk out with it. 6. Gym nice 7. Grounds and landscaping pretty and well maintained 8. Cabana 6 was a prefect location and a fantastic price $25/day when we reserved it on site.

    Find Luis Martinz!!!

    Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar is a fantastic resort that truly set the bar high for me! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with drinks and smiling faces. The staff was so incredibly friendly and helpful, It made me feel right at home. During my stay I met Luis Martinez, who was the kindest and nicest person ever. He helped me around throughout my whole trip. Luis gave me recommendations and things to do in this particular resort. He made me experience the best vacation that I ever had in any resort in Cancun. He had also helped me not get scammed while trying to find a taxi to get back to the airport. If you're ever feel bored find him and he will put a fun smile right on your face. He is excellent in what he does and takes his job very seriously. If you plan to stay at this hotel, please do not hesitate to ask for Mr. Luis. He will make your stay memorable.
