A great place to visit if you are a scuba diver.
The Iberostar Waves All-inclusive Resort really caters to the many scuba divers that come to dive the nearby reefs. The water is very clear and you can see a wide variety of sea life. We found the rooms to be very clean, but small. The food was also very good with lots of variety night to night. We also liked the way the resort was laid out with the cabanas spread out through a tropical setting. The servers and bartenders are so friendly and lovely. A special thanks to Ana and Reyes at the Pool bar, always a smile and a friendly "hola". Here is what I found frustrating at the resort: 1) The resort charged $15 USD per hour, for late check out (after 12 pm). Felt that this was very punitive especially after we tipped their employees hundreds of dollars during the week. 2) You have to wear water shoes to swim in the ocean here as where you enter the water is covered with rocks/coral. The entrance to the water from the dock still has not been fixed after 3 months. 3) The hotel overrides your room thermostat and will not let it cool lower than 20 degrees.

Amazing
It was the first time my wife and I went to Mexico, let alone Cozumel, and it was truly an amazing experience, we can't wait to book our next trip! The food was great, amenities were great, all in all it was a very cozy stay. The entertainment team especially enhanced our experience... we love Ahtziry and the entertainment she had to offer. Would definitely recommend.

Best experience in Cozumel
First time at the resort. We liked it so so much! The staff is amazing , espacially the animation crew Gerardo, Jorge, Ahtziri, Max, and the fitness instructor Manolo! Loved his yoga classes, his Pilates classes and the aqua fit so much! He really makes a difference :) The animation team was also amazing, kind helpful and full of joy. We got to know them pretty well and surly made friend along the way ! The food and drinks were also very good and the hotel is so pretty and full of wildlife . Would come again anytime!

Staff are very friendly. Always working to satisfy you on your stay. Had a issue with shower and the staff solved it.
Very good beds and pillows. They have several restaurants on sight. Smokehouse Mexican and Oriental restaurants. We had 3 chefs stop by our tables and asked us how our food was during our 6 days. Buffet is a buffet. Scuba center on site. Very busy and very professional. They do roughly 250- 300 tours a day by my count including snorkeling. Very organized. They have an app that will help while at the hotel. Juan C and staff were extremely helpful during our stay. They were willing to solve anything or problems that you might have. We did have an issue and they resolved it and followed up after problem was solved. You can rent a car onsite from Alamo. Since this place is place is 20 miles from downtown it is nice that we were able to rent a car here. Taxi service is also available at the hotel. We will stay here again if we come to Cozumel Again.
