Great week.
The resort is lovely and the staff is excellent. Our ambassador Kerry Kay was the best. The beach has seaweed at times but the staff are great at cleaning up. Always spotless. We will be back and looking forward to possibly staying for 2 weeks next time.

Great deception!!
It’s my 6th time in Jamaïca, 4th time at the Iberostar Rose hall (twice at the beach, twice at the suites). But this time is a deception for me. The hotel need love that they don’t give. Broken stuff all over (toilets, sinks, etc in the public areas). Restaurants are not always open, even the buffet. We have to go to the beach side to eat. We tried to make a reservation for our group (13 persons) at the tepaniaki and we were not even able to have a seating all together. They told us they only have 10 spots for the suites per nights. We pay more to go to the suites and don’t have the advantages going with it. The room is often made at 4:30 or 5:00 in the afternoon. It’s the time when everybody come back from the beach and the pool. I did a lot of trips and never saw that before in my life!!! How is it possible? We don’t see anybody doing the rooms in the morning. They either need more people or to ask them to start earlyer. I’m not sure I’ll go to Iberostar again in the future!

DON’T GO HERE
READ THIS before you book. This is a 2 star hotel. Nothing about this place was 5 star. I feel so misled. I don’t know how they are getting away with saying it’s 5 star. We booked 2 ocean front with 2 double beds. They told us that wasn’t possible. They knew we were coming. I paid $18,000 for 5 of us. Day 2 the found a double bedroom for one of our rooms. Don’t get ocean front it’s a dirty and not worth it. It’s the worst resort I have ever been too. I have traveled to 7 All inclusive resorts this year and traveled to 5 star hotels in Europe for 3 weeks this summer. This was like a motel. This hotel is barely surviving. I have never come to a hotel that is screaming we are in serious financial trouble. Whoever is running this place is cutting corners and cutting everything nonstop. Several of their staff shared how the property suffering. And complained to us. No welcome drink or anything, the lobby looks old and vacant. and right out of 1980. They want you to attend a session for the timeshare. I was smart enough to say no to that nonsense right away. No one in their right mind would invest in this money pit of a property. I It just feels sad and depressing in this place. Rooms are just run down. And mold in showers. Mold in the rooms. No amenities in the rooms. Now knowing how desperate they are to cut costs I can see why they don’t offer anything in the rooms. Nothing in the bathrooms. There’s no water you have to go fetch it yourself from their water filter. Again no luxury resort does this. This resort was so cheap! They didn’t refill the refrigerator once in our 7 day stay. No higher management on the property. No one does anything about your complaints. They just don’t care. There’s no one doing anything. It goes into the abyss. Tonya and her supervisor just say I’m so sorry and do absolutely nothing! Do not go here!!! The workers are sad the whole place is sad. Some of the people are rude they just don’t care. And there are some who do. The vibe is horrible. Showers are gross straight up a motel has a better shower. Remember I booked ocean front I can’t imagine how bad the other rooms were. Dinner forget it. Food is gross. It’s beyond bad. No fresh fruit at breakfast, it’s all canned. Sitting in syrup. Watermelon was NOT red the defrosted strawberry’s are rotten. You will see the veggies are frozen at the omelet stations. Whatever doesn’t get eaten they recycle it and give it to you again. YUCK! This is why everyone was getting sick. They have several restaurants but they don’t have them open all at rhe same time so you have to wait hours to get in. They don’t have the staff to run all the places at once. So we basically have to fight over where to eat. You will see the same staff moving to the different restaurants to serve. The sushi place was absolutely disgusting! And a waste! They said they can’t modify the rolls because they remake them. Well these premade rice rolls (had no ingredients except rice) lol . Avocados are expensive so you won’t find them in the rolls. They just don’t care. They tell you, you can only order 1 thing. And it’s supposed to be all inclusive. Don’t go here!!! Nobody refills your water at the restaurant and very slow for drinks And you have to get up and get it yourself. It’s the worse food I’ve ever had. Breakfast one of the chefs said he would take care of me. I kept tipping him $5 to get real fruit. Well that went downhill fast. By day two he was bringing me the tired looking stale French toast. And you will see at breakfast there are items not replenished and it’s like 9:30 am and they won’t do it. Ie fresh toast. The pancakes were so thin and it was grainy and gross. They definitely put the bread people don’t eat back in a basket for you to eat. They reuse everything. Imagine people touching the food they take it freeze unused stuff then serve it to you? The food is being reused and you will see they have frozen fruit and vegetables they try to reuse. trust me when I say this no other resort I’ve been to does this. There has to be a law against this and there needs to be a surprise inspection on these Iberostar properties. The jerk shack chicken is dry and overcooked. The jerk sauce is good when they have it. Everything is always out. Beach is filthy Seaweed everywhere They make zero attempts to clean it Drug deals going down all day long. The water looks so dingy it’s so so gross this is not how Caribbean beaches look. This is nasty! Oh and the jelly fish are in the water and latching on to people. There is usually no one is in the water. Aunt ruby flooded and the outside was all flooded with sewer water. The people don’t care They hate working there. December 30th well I guess December 31st at 12:15 am this loud noise started outside of my room. There was a truck there I guess draining something and it was happening at 12am and went for hours. No warning no letting us know. Called front desk twice and they said they don’t know what is going on and zero solutions Everyone I met was just upset with how bad this resort is. Don’t believe the 5 star reviews they must be coming from paid people. No ok would say this was a five star place. The hotel is bleeding money. And the workers were all telling me it’s in survival mode. It’s a sinking ship. It’s like a really bad timeshare hotel you would get in the worst part of Mexico There is no snacks in the room line most all inclusive resorts. Do not take your family here. The toilets in the public areas were always backed up. The drinks were horrible nothing had alcohol in it. The only place that made half decent drinks was the bar lobby The lazy river does not work and when you tell them they act so surprised like they had no idea. The towels are the cheapest you can find I wouldn’t wash my car tires with them. They are stingy with everything. You just don’t feel safe here Beds were like cots My back was killing me There is nothing luxury about this place But there is nothing that is even representative of a 3 star hotel The safes always go offline and give error messages. Room keys constantly not working and this was super annoying. Dirty doors nothing gets really clean between like the floors and the doors the handles. There’s no AC in the common areas or if they have it on it’s very low

It has slid down pretty bad….
We have stayed at the Iberostar suites for over 10 years every Christmas/New Years and have seen a significant drop off this time around. First, we went to the statehouse and (I kid you not) there was raw sewage flowing in the dining area. After smelling it for 10 minutes, we looked behind my wife’s chair and saw water everywhere. When we took a whiff in, we realized the smell was coming from the water. There were about 100 people dining there outside and they didn’t tell anyone. They moved is inside, and we could continue to smell the sewage. Second, the next night we were awoken by what sounded like a train running outside our bedroom room. At 12 am no less. When I looked outside, I could see it was a sewage tanker truck next to the steakhouse, which was close to our room. It was incredibly loud. After about 2 hours of listening to it, unable to go to sleep as it idled loudly outside, I called to the front desk to ask them how much longer it was go on. They don’t know. I then went to the front desk to ask someone, and there was another dad there complaining about it: we asked the guy at the front desk to talk to the manager and he said there wasn’t one. This was unbelievable! At a place this large with thousands of people staying at it; there wasn’t a night manager available. Either the guy was lying to me or this place is insane. Third, the housekeepers failed to clean our room one day. And if you’ve ever been to a beach, having a room with sand on the floor and the like is not fun. When we got back to our room at 4:30 and called the front desk to ask why our room wasn’t cleaned, they said they would send someone up. I told them that the cleaner couldn’t come then because we were all coming back from the beach and needed to clean up for dinner. I said them to send the cleaner at 6 when we would be at dinner. They said ok. Of course, when we came back from dinner our place was still not cleaned. Fourth, we have found the service to not be as good as previous years. This place used to make sure your glass was never empty. Not this year. Fifth, they don’t let you make reservations for dinner. So basically it’s a free for all at the restaurants. I could go on. But I have to say that we are not staying here again.

Pleasant stay with good food
Pleasant moderately sized mid-level resort. All inclusive resort ratings are different from regular hotel ratings so keep that in mind. Food was good and the cafe had strong yummy coffee drinks. Pool never felt too crowded. Loved curry chicken/goat at the buffet. Jerk chicken by beach was good but they were constantly out so had to wait. Christmas gala was great. Greek was so yum. Italian and hibachi solid. Asian not so much. All are first come first serve besides hibachi which translated to waiting up to an hour to get your table. Most staff were friendly once you start talking to them. Not Mexico resort friendly but different culture so all good. Other folks complained about shower not draining. One of our rooms had that issue but then realized just stepping on the drain when water starts pooling opened the drain. After finding that trick no issues. Took out a kayak. It was fun. Sail lesson available for $60 then you can take one out but make sure you come back in time cause they are no joke about their “rescue fee” if you can’t make it back in time. I heard the whole drama unfold with another guest. We decided not to sail. The most annoying thing was the door. The card keys kept not working. Every single day sometimes several times a day. Couple times it took over an hour for them to try resetting the card reader. Not pleasant when dripping wet or tired at the end of the night. They have a giant book filled with record of such incident happening to everyone. I did hear they are switching to different system. All in all, pleasant stay with some updates that would make it nicer.
