Hotel Overview
In perfect harmony with the environment, Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus is comprised of eight bungalow-type two story buildings surrounded by extensive tropical gardens. Beautifully set on a sandy beach framing the Caribbean, the Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus claims the same outstanding features which make Iberostar Resorts so popular among Apple Vacationers. Step into the lobby and you'll see why; life size cattle and horses of sculptured iron, and an authentic wooden sugarcane splicer used to make molasses lend flavor to Dominican lifestyle. Lagoons with fountains deliver soothing sounds in harmony with a sensational visual of flourishing gardens, bursting into bloom. Villa style blocks of rooms surround one of three swimming pools.
Designed with both couples and families with children in mind, the entertainment program includes activities for young and older alike, all led by skilled, professional staff. Enjoy three large pools and a children's pool. Kids can also spend hours of fun at Star Camp. By night, the whole family can unwind with live shows and music. The modern spa has five rooms for treatments, Jacuzzis, and much more.
Dining is always rated highly by Apple Vacationers as with any Iberostar Resort. The Hacienda Dominicus offers four specialty restaurants- Japanese, Mexican, Gourmet (ages 10+) and Steakhouse, plus a buffet restaurant with a huge selection of fresh foods and show cooking, and a grill/snack bar. The Hacienda Dominicus Hotel is also home to six themed bars.

Given a moldy stinky mildew room instead of the room I reserved months in advance.
I have stayed at this property numerous times over the last ten years. I reserved months in advance room 1026 on the hotels website. When I arrived they switched my room to room 5001 this room was stinky and smelled of mold and mildew and not habitable. My wife and I contacted the front desk and told them this was unacceptable. They gave me the choice of staying one night in this stinky room and then a room change the next day which was unacceptable or to pay an additional $525.00 to upgrade to room 4117 which I did to avoid spending one night in that stinky room. During or stay we meet the people staying in our originally reserved room 1026 who stated the room was nice with no issues. Our stay was from 11/29/24 to 12/06/24. In closing the desk attendant thought he was doing me a favor getting me this room 4117 for only $525.00 more when in reality you just made my vacation more expense. Iberostar you should be ashamed of treating a loyal repeat customer in this manner and make this right and also condemn or fix the mold and mildew issue in room 5001.

Stolen Wheelchair
My mother had her wheelchair stolen out of the entrance of the hotel when the bellhop was taking her stuff to her room (they had to do 2 trips and left the wheelchair behind for the second trip). The hotel has refused to accept any liability though the wheelchair was in their possession and now my mother has no wheelchair for her trip and will have to purchase a new wheelchair when she returns to Canada. Be aware that when leaving things with guest services the hotel assumes no liability for lost or stolen items.

Clogged toilets everywhere in the resort
Bring a plunger. Toilets clog all over the resort. Very few employees speak English. Can’t get a cup of decaf coffee, they don’t understand. Food is okay. Would not return. Mostly Spanish speaking guests, very few American or Canadian guests.
