Mar 24, 2025Very good but not 5* as we would know it
Above all else the staff are fantastic and put me to shame with their language skills, they were able to change between English, German, French and Spanish so easily. We booked a standard room for our anniversary and are currently in room 274 and it is lovely but a little tired looking and because it’s facing the street can be noisy at night when the bins are collected at 1am, the main room had enough space and storage for the two of us. the bathroom (double sinks) does not have storage/shelves for wash bags etc so was awkward and meant we are not able to put out our toiletries, the bath/shower was arranged so it was difficult to get in and out of, if you have balance/slight mobility issues I would not recommend . Also the shower screen was very difficult to close so water covers the floor, I would get an extra towel for the floor to keep it dry. Also no hooks to hang towels to dry. The hairdryer is ok , it’s attached to the wall type, but kept stopping after less than a minute and had to wait 2-3 mins for it to work again, the staff were very god to send a replacement. The bathroom mirror light did not work at all but the overhead light was adequate. Each floor has a filtered water dispenser which was very nice. We booked room only and were offered breakfast at €20pp, we tried for 2 days but not for us, we did not feel it was value for money as we saw local cafes offering coffee, juice and breakfast sandwich for €5-7. The buffet has most of what you could need and an additional hot food to the table menu but it’s not 5*, I ordered eggs Benedict and the egg was so raw it turned my stomach and the bread was not a muffin so was not a true eggs Benedict. Being in the Canary Islands I would have loved to see a local hot fish option at breakfast. Grounds, beautiful areas and so many options whether a pool lounger or a comfy sofa in the shade. Amazing hotel great restaurants, we very much loved the bar area for food. I made use of the lovely gym every day on our 6 day stay. The hotel spa and the gym was so very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. We’ve been to this hotel before a view times and we’re never disappointed. It’s in a perfect location for the city for what we’re looking for and we will be returning to it in the future. Thank you to all the lovely hardworking staff, you made us feel so welcomed .🙏😃😎👍

Excellent breakfast and team. Iberostar always exceeds regrettably; not this time. Complained twice, then gave up drain smell in bathroom. Had a 35 Euro meal.. misleading as not al la carte and very poor. Resulting in the next 10 days of inconvenience finding somewhere else to eat.

The hotel has extensive grounds for being in the city center; elegant interior, pools, gym, turtle pond and green space. Adjacent to the most beautiful park in the city, las ramblas, and walking to Port area. My concerns and issues; 1) housekeeping was disappointing- no coffee maker in room and I had to bring it up, one day no clean cups glasses spoons were replaced along with not emptying garbage. I had to make a list in English to give to housekeeping manager. Every time I wanted to speak to the manager, they were not in. Issue 2: the hotel hosts many government and business events. On Sunday, a police officer wouldn't allow me to pass the area to go to my room on the same floor. I had to go to front desk to get assistance. This is clearly unacceptable, the hotel should of anticipated addressing this ahead of time. Issue 3; our room faced a side street. Throughout the day loud motor scooters are in the immediate area disrupting the serenity

One of the best hotels I stayed at
Beautiful hotel in a good location. The staff was great and I was grateful they spoke English. Yeah, I know I should learn Spanish. The guy who checked me in walked me to the elevator to use to get to my room. The room was one of the best I’ve stayed in, large and cleaned and I’ve traveled extensively in the US and the world. The outdoor space with the pool and chairs is incredible as is the outdoor space to have cocktails. I didn’t eat dinner there as I was exploring the city and had dinner near the cruise port. I did have the incredible breakfast buffet that was only 20 euros, champagne included. I stayed one night before a cruise. I will definitely return. And just for information purposes, they do have a casino.
