May 03, 2025Amazing, Relaxing, 5* Service - Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya
Wow, what an amazing trip!! This was our second time visiting Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya and it's safe to say we will be back!! The service at Zilara is top notch. Right when we arrived, Adolfo took our bags to our room, explained every feature of the room to make sure we were satisfied and comfortable. The room's are spacious and comfortable, the ocean views are breathtaking, you can see Cozumel across the caribbean on a clear day! Miriam kept our room sparkling clean and did a fantastic job. This resort is a perfect mix of relaxation and fun. There are no wet t-shirt contests here like up in cancun and one side of the pool has a quieter vibe that's perfect for reading or taking a cat nap in the sun. The other side of the pool has music and fun activities like bingo and water aerobics. The entertainment staff are AMAZING we got to know them personally over our 9 day stay and they are the sweetest, most charismatic group of people I have met on a vacation. A huge shoutout to: Fermin, Sandy, Yuni, Dulce, and Arturo who made our trip so much fun. We made bracelets, went on an easter egg hunt, participated in Jeopardy and so much more! There is no pressure to play games or participate in activities it truly is a perfect balance of relaxation and fun When relaxing around the pool, hotel staff are walking around to take drink orders. Rafa, Alex and Diana took such great care of us all week. Ice water, mixed drinks, soda, whatever you need you don't even have to leave your beach chair! The food was AWESOME. Most days by the pool there is a special lunch provided and it was all so good. The al pastor tacos... I still think about to this day! Tempest Asian restaurant was our favorite. Kairo our server took such great care of us and the food was exceptional from the sushi bar, the hibachi and the main restaurant. Another perk of the food is the coffee bar that has fresh brewed coffee, pastries and gelato. Luz and Lucero are the nicest people in the whole world and got to know us each day we came in for a cup of coffee or gelato. The entire staff is truly so dedicated to making your experience perfect. At night there is always a fun game show or dance show or live activity hosted by the amazing entertainment team. If you're looking for something slower speed the cocktail bar in the lounge plays soft music and has a great vibe. Legends sports bar is where the action is at night and Abraham and Yessenia are amazing making sure you have what you need to enjoy the show or watch whatever sporting event you want. Hyatt Zilara is a perfect mix of relaxation and fun without the wild cancun party life. 5* service and amazing food will make your stay one to remember!

Fabulous!
Have stayed in both Zilara Cancun and Zilara Rivera Maya and this one is by far my favourite - mainly due to the fantastic staff. Much more laid back vibe (albeit older clientele - mainly 50+). The staff seem to genuinely love their job and are so helpful. Miguel, Julio, Denise and Joanna were particularly fabulous. Food is fresh and good quality and staff are attentive to allergies (although do state if it’s an allergy not a “preference”) Lots of wildlife wandering around, coatis, iguanas, capybaras. There is an element of “lounger war at dawn” with large parties reserving a huge row of the poolside sunbeds at 6am so worth getting up to watch the sunrise / put your towel down, but plenty left later if you’re not fussy on location. Cabanas are extra but not expensive. Tips - If you book a bottle of premium wine (pretty reasonable at around 2x markup) for a restaurant or one of the entertainment nights you get premium seating which can be useful at busy times. - Lock your balcony door at all times - the coatis can and will come in your room and are not shy to do this and will through your bags for food - Take lots of dollars or pesos for tips - we did $1 on drinks and $5 at lunch /dinner - not expected but appreciated - Rooms in the main block above the bar are really noisy until the bar closes - choose a room in the wings if you plan to sleep before 11pm - 20 min walk along the beach is a cenote which is worth going to for a swim - but be careful of the strong current and do not swallow the water!

5-stars in Playa del Carmen
Exceptional facilities and staff. This is the must-stay place in Playa del Carmen. The service starts the second you exit your transportation and continues, 24-hours a day, until you leave. All aspects of this resort were exceptional, but the staff deserves mentioning. They're kind, attentive, and genuine.

May 01, 2025Relaxing beach time with Yoga
We enjoyed our visit especially the time to relax on the beach. The food was good in the restaurants that we could get into, the Italian restaurant was always too busy so we did not get to try it. The activities were fun with so much to enjoy and do. We love yoga but would have loved two morning classes rather than one morning class and one at 6:00pm which interfered with dinner. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

A pleasant surprise
This hotel is a great place. All the staff are wonderful and friendly. Not your typical giant resort. It's not really that big in size but its service is spectacular. The kitchen in all restaurants is delicious and clean. Our butlers, Sofia and Fernando made our stay more than perfect. At first, we had some doubts as we had read some negative reviews, but frankly we were surprised at how well the hotel is and how well trained its staff. Although it is small, it has everything to have a happy time. At the Tepan in the Japanese restaurant, our chef Irvin was super fun and helpful (as well as cooking delicious). And look for the waiter Miguel (in each of his three restaurants for dinner there is a Miguel), because they give the best service. In the spa we were also indulged and relaxed. Thanks to Jorge, Amparo and Ingrid, as they made our experience a very relaxing one. Thank you to all the hotel staff. We will really come back because we are leaving so happy!
