Good stay in nice hotel.
Staff was very nice and attentive, which is the kind of service you would expect from a nice hotel. The bed needed to be changed as it was out of shape. No room service was a bummer and the hotel fees and food and beverage outlets are pricey (50 bucks a night for self parking for example). Overall nice place and would stay here again. Nice views of the water and good amenities overall. Good place for kids as well.

Beautiful Hotel, Great location
We had an amazing 4 nights at this hotel. Our kids loved the slides, ping pong table and buying the smores kit from Pelicans. The location is great. We had a car and found it easy to get to the beach or inland towards the Zoo. It was nice being slightly out of San Diego to avoid traffic. The room was very spacious. The four of us didn’t have any problems with space. The balcony offered gorgeous views.

Good experience with more than 2 nights stay.
Overall experience was pretty good. Nice location, ambience and friendly staff. However, Hotel booking site doesn't state that Pool/Slide can be used only between 12noon -5pm. This means anyone checking in for 1 night stay cannot access it.

Anniversary stay! A few hiccups!
We came to celebrate our Anniversary. Thank you to Melanie for making our Anniversary trip memorable with champagne and chocolates in our room. The noted postcards from Melanie and staff were very sweet. We considered extending our trip but encountered a few issues during the trip. Overall, we had a wonderful Anniversary trip but experienced hiccups throughout the stay. All the front desk staff are kind, friendly and courteous. The service is great. We did notice, different staff would give different responses. Our bed was super comfy as expected from Hyatt. We got a complimentary upgrade on the tower 3rd floor. I found out later, the best views of the Marina and Mission Bay are floors 5-17. I wish we had a better view but we were happy to be away to celebrate together. Our room was clean. We didn’t have bath robes or a tissue box. We requested for the bath robes and got them right away. Self-parking or Valet is $50/day. Resort stay $39/day. We checked in early, our room wasn’t ready. They said they would send our bags up to our room and they didn’t when we returned to check in. The bell boy was friendly and jolly at first but his tone changed when my boyfriend apologized we didn’t have cash on us to tip. He suggested my boyfriend go pull out cash at their ATM in the lobby - which my BF did because we were appreciative of his help. His demeanor change was unexpected and left a bad taste. We didn’t get all the things needed upon check in such as our complimentary Marina water-sports tickets and parking permit. Oddly, we got them on different days of our stay. We were not able to use the complimentary tickets because the Marina kiosk was closed, possibly because it was Veterans Day. Another day, our room keys didn’t work when we returned from a night out. We got it changed and fixed right away. We requested for housekeeping on day 2 while we went to the jacuzzi, and they never came. We asked again when we returned to the room and got it scheduled again when the room was going to be vacant. It was inconvenient to return to our room, in wet bathing suits with no clean towels. They took 15-20 mins to bring us clean towels, after we showered. It is a family friendly stay. There were lots of kids in the pool area, running around. This is nothing the hotel can control, but other hotel guests were just blocking jacuzzi entrances or had their kids blocking entrances. There was a lack of self awareness to others. They waived our resort fee because wifi didn’t work in our room the whole stay. Isabella was kind and helped us sort that out. Another front desk employee made a great Italian dinner recommendation to Mimmo’s. We loved it for our anniversary dinner. Bf considered extending our stay and asked for a quote. We came back that night to ask again to see if we were going to do so, and our stay was already extended without us confirming it. It was fixed right away and then we were told there wasn’t any availability, which is understandable. After considering all the hiccups, I was glad we didn’t extend. Upon checking out, I recommend checking your receipt. When we checked out, we were charged a pet fee $75. We didn’t have any pets. It got taken care of right away. I emailed the manager of our experience and didn’t get a response. Overall, everyone in SD and the hotel was kind and addressed our needs as fast or to the best of their ability. I’ve stayed at many other Hyatts and this one was my least favorite stays given our special occasion. We probably will not return. Regardless, we still made the most of our stay and glad we got to experience it. We are grateful for all those who did make our stay, special. Thank you!

Mixed Experience: A Few Hits and Misses
We've stayed at the Hyatt Mission Bay several times as a weekend getaway. While the location and overall ambiance are pleasant, our overall experiences were a bit mixed. For the recent one, the late check-in process could have been more informative. The staff member was not very engaging and didn't provide much detail about room service or hotel amenities. This was surprising, especially considering our Globalist status. But, Eileen, the front desk agent, provided exceptional service next day, making our stay truly memorable. Her warm welcome and helpful attitude significantly enhanced our experience. A huge thanks to Eileen!!! While the room was clean, the overall impression upon entering could be enhanced by addressing any unpleasant odors. I hope and believe that addressing these minor issues can significantly enhance the overall guest experience at the Hyatt Mission Bay, and this property is still one of our favorites in SD.
