The bed was fabulous-bigger than a King, super comfortable. Great sized room. Took option to have bigger room on 17th floor.Excellent service. Perfect location. Bathroom great. Photos did not disappoint!Dinner downstairs at Rider was excellent-especially ndjua mussel/clams!!

Beautiful Boutique Hotel, close to everything. Our absolute favorite when visiting Seattle! Walk to Nordstrom, Barney's, the train station, Pikes Market, the waterfront, Ferrys, The Aquarium, Din Tai Fung, etc. Everything you need is in this small jewel hotel. Delicious, on-trend, "RIDER" restaurant, friendly staff. Gorgeous "moody deco" color palette for the interior lobby, rooms and public spaces. Rooms and bathrooms are quiet and small but well equipped, VERY comfortable beds with down pillows. Ask for a corner room. If you're flying in, don't Uber, take the $3 train (40 minutes) from the airport and walk a block to the Hotel Theodore. You'll love it!

Mar 02, 2025Great staff, lovely atmosphere, bad restaurant smell
I really enjoyed the decor and all staff we encountered were highly professional and helpful. The rooms were a little loud but street level noise was fairly quiet for a busy part of downtown. There’s a complimentary wine happy hour in the lobby, although it seemed popular with guests, we did not sample the offerings. The room was very clean. The gym is small but offers basics one needs for a quick workout. My drawbacks are the terribly small bathrooms and adjoining restaurant, Rider. There is virtually no counter space for toiletries and the shower door and actual door require navigating so you can open or close without them overlapping. The towels were a bit frayed and scratchy as well. A separate review for the restaurant is warranted but the wood fired/smoke theme of the menu permeates the entire hotel. The smell is noticeable from the street and all the way to the ninth floor where our room was located. While I liked this hotel, the restaurant smell deters me from wanting to book here again.

Our favorite for stays in Seattle
We love the Theodore! It is our first choice when we visit Seattle. It is a perfect location to walk to shows at the 5th Avenue Theatre and Act Theatre. Love their quaint comfortable rooms with nostalgic character. Also nice to enjoy a glass of wine upon check in and a coffee in the morning in the lobby.
