Feb 10, 2025Great Location, but Some Drawbacks
The hotel’s location is excellent—right in Fisherman’s Wharf, just a 5-minute walk from Pier 39 and relatively close to the Golden Gate Bridge. The rooms are spacious and habitable, but don’t expect luxury. The furniture is new, but the rooms themselves feel a bit outdated. The bathroom is extremely small—you have to position yourself carefully just to close the door from the inside (you’ll understand when you visit). Breakfast is supposedly included, but with the resort fee they charge, you might as well have breakfast anywhere else in San Francisco. Also, don’t expect complimentary bottled water—you’ll only get them at check-in and no more after that. Parking is expensive at $60 per day. The restaurant is only open for breakfast, and while they have a bar (which we didn’t try), the grab-and-go counter is run by a lady who expects a tip just for charging you. Overall, for the price, it’s acceptable, though there’s a lot of room for improvement. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly stay in a great location, this hotel is decent—just keep your expectations in check.

We loved the staff and the breakfast. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for getting around the city and seeing the sights. We will certainly stay there again.

January 2025 stay
I enjoyed my 2 night stay at Riu Plaza Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. Very friendly and accommodating staff made sure I had everything I needed while there. My room was ready when I arrived and the check in process was fast and simple. The breakfast buffet was great with just about something for everyone. All the food was fresh and there were plenty of options to please anyone.

This was a great location, great service too. They were very helpful and stored my bags and made me feel comfortable and welcome. Only complaint was the room was facing the parking lot which made it loud sometimes when people were loading/unloading. Definitely recommend.

Great Hotel in San Francisco
The hotel is in a great location in San Francisco. It offers a great selection of free Breakfast, strong Wi-Fi for multiple devices, a Clean room, and a comfortable bed. Only my room was on the first floor which did not have a good view.
