Wonderful!
A wonderful and special stay - warm welcoming staff who catered for a a missed group ranging from 15 to 75 years old. The rooms are immaculate a spacious and there was a huge effort to bring the spirit of Christmas into the hotel, which was fabulous.

Superb as always in fact, Rosewood standard.
Superb as always…apart from the nuts served with cocktails… With thanks to Augustin and Georges for superb assistance from guest services. With thanks to David, an exceptional Concierge, With thanks to Elizabetza for her welcome and all-round hospitality excellence and to all the Concierge team, guest services and reception staff, 100% superb. I’ve been staying at the Martinez off and on since my first stay back in 1976 and in those days (and for many years) they could boast of having the best bar in Cannes where everyone visiting for the festivals would congregate. The Martinez bar was THE place to see and be seen. I was excited to hear from Georges that they are opening a new bar next year with direct access from La Crossette. I hope it is open in time for my return in April 2025… I felt absolutely at home in my junior suite. I particularly appreciated how the thermostats for both the bath and shower are calibrated to perfection, this is actually quite rare in hotels. The art deco theme is superb and everything is of the highest high quality luxury. I particularly loved all suite woodwork throughout being finished in beautiful white lacquer …and the deco vanity units in the bathroom. Housekeeping is as good as it gets anything you need the phone is answered almost instantly. I asked the concierge to book me into the very best restaurant for steaks in Cannes and they certainly did. ‘They recommended ‘Lucky You’ in the old town. This is a small yet perfect steak restaurant with warm and friendly service (something quite rare in the tourist traps especially on Rue D’Antibes) Every single dish and side dish was cooked to perfection...as good as it gets. Lucky Me! I had never heard of it, well done David. I only ordered one cocktail at the Martinez bar. I did not expect perfection as the cocktail I ordered is fairly new and it is not easy to find one made perfectly. Most bartenders haven’t heard of it. The Martinez effort was admirable… I would give it 7 out of 10 which is fairly good going as I have refused to drink quite a few at other bars when they have been pitiful. If a bar does not have the ingredients for a penicillin…, they should say so. My only criticism is that the cashew nuts served with drinks were so spicy they can murder the taste of any drink. The olives were not much better . Salty cashews are fine, salty and sugary can be tasty but to serve nibbles that ruin the palate is pointless. This was the opposite of a remise en bouche. I also used to stay at another iconic grand hotel, just a few blocks away but since their refurbishment I have gone off it. The refurbishment at the Martinez was nothing less than a triumph and the hotel is simply wonderful. The Martinez is without any doubt the top hotel in Cannes offering good value and all-round excellence. Other guests I happened to chat with were all returning guests. This is everyone’s home in Cannes. It is rare for a hotel to be so consistently excellent. It was great when I first stayed back in January 1976 and has been ever since. It is always interesting when checking in to see the changing/remarkable displays in the lobby. Being December... the theme is of course Christmas. I doubt any other hotel in Cannes comes close... It is no expense spared as always. I loved the sleigh (see photo)

Brilliant, fabulous and powerful Unbound Collection by Hyatt shaped by a mosaic of talents
Almost turning 100 years legacy ... By 2029, this centenary hotel still maintain an eternal youth and a powerful narrative to explore the everlasting soul of the French Riviera. We spent four amazing days served by a creative coalition of multicultural hoteliers. Sara at the front desk reception welcomed us and greeted us with high value insights to feel comfortable in our Suite Junior and explore deeper what the iconic Martinez has to offer : Oasis retreat, Spa, restaurants... Maxime & the concierge team were very helpful and informative to explore the local scene and the neighboring islands. Baptiste was an excellent waiter for our diner. Guillaume made also amazing cocktails at the bar. Last but not the least : Kateryna, Yannick, Alberto and Isabelle were fully dedicated for our lunch on the Martinez beach. The only weakness of the Martinez in winter is the chaotic renovation of the building. For international visitors, the lobby entrance and the pier renovation look so messy and the set up so precarious especially when the decorators switch the Christmas decorations and contractors close the beach. To avoid such disappointment, I guess it would be better to pre-inform the guests in advance to ensure a smooth arrival. The white & blue interior design express a deep sense of purity to greet the guests. But the under construction process removed this added value.
