4 star could be 5 star
First of all this hotel is stunning, the rooms and the bathroom so luxurious. The restaurants were five star service and food. The pool food and room service took a while and it was not very good. If you wanted to grab something quick, even the lobby bar food was better (specially the fish tacos) . The drinks were definitely watered down. The beach was stunning, although it was windy and the waves can be choppy they have an area where they keep clean from seaweed which is perfect for a swim. There was a couple things that weren’t five star expectations, but overall the service that was provided by Alberto who was there to help us with everything made up for the lack of service in other areas. My best advice if anything just do research on the hotel areas, events, and hours just so you can have a more smooth experience.

Outstanding Resort
A beautiful resort, spread out over several acres; plenty of pools, kids zone, activities, restaurants. All the staff is outstanding. Our butler, Eduardo was outstanding; he checked in with us everyday and accommodated any request that we might have had, which were few. A special shoutout to Anastacio, the waiter at the outdoors Mediterranean restaurant. He was so good, we went back a second time and ended with him on our last night. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Outstanding family trip to Tulum
Having just returned from a weeklong stay at the HILTON TULUM RIVIERA MAYA with my spouse and two children, we are already missing the daily pleasures and relaxation we enjoyed at this excellent location. This property was perfect as our 'home base' while staying in the Tulum/Akumal region. Every area is kept immaculately clean and the staff maintain an exceptional attention to detail. For our stay we booked and took advantage of the Enclave level of service and were very happy we did. Our assigned concierge was Sebastian and he did an outstanding job ensuring we had everything we needed each day. The Enclave exclusive areas were where we spent most of our on-property days as they felt less busy and were much closer to our room in Casa 1. The pool areas were all very nice and relaxing, and the beach access too was a nice change of pace. There are clear efforts made to ensure very minimal seaweed/plants washed up on shore, and any that did were quickly taken care of. Something to be aware of is the beach access is quite rocky and will require some type of water footwear to protect your feet, and the area is quite shallow; barely deep enough to snorkel in. Some may prefer that for its relative safety, however if you're looking to take part in any ocean activities beyond wading, this is not the beach/break for you. We chose this property because we wanted an elevated experience that didn't feel like being at an all inclusive, and this property certainly delivered. Many restaurants with dress codes, a la carte menus, and attentive service, varied and engaging activities, and access to services and excursions within close proximity to the property. I cannot more highly recommend this property if this sounds like the experience you're looking for, and I recommend the Enclave access. Let Sebastian and his excellent colleagues help to make your trip very memorable.

Relax and Rejuvenate in Tulum!
My teen girls and I just returned after a week long stay at the Hilton Tulum for the first time as a guest instructor with the Fitness Vacation Exchange. We had an amazing time! The staff was always 100% on top of what we might need, they were always friendly and although I've seen some people be negative about waiting for service, we never had to wait! The resort is spread out into 6 "casas" - and we were in casa 6. They have tram/golf cart service that is always shuttling, so we never had to wait more than maybe 5 minutes for a tram to bring us to any other casa or the lobby area. The fitness center is a dream, and Kevin and Sofia are so kind and helpful to all the the guests. They were so helpful to ME! I love that the resort has the offerings of different fitness style classes, meditation/breathwork, yoga and sound baths, among many others not listed. The staff works hard! I especially loved the breakfast buffet at Vela Sur, where the omelette station had a constant line, and the workers made sure you loved your food. Thank you, workers! The food is good, and reminder to make your dinner reservations early at check in. My girls loved the woodfired pizzas and Hibachi dinner. The pools never felt crowded, nor did the beach, and there was always something to do. Activities, nightly entertainment, and helpful staff to suggest things to do. We'll be back!! **remember to bring EXTRA sunscreen-even if you think you may have enough! We used the highest SPF and still got pink/red after many applications! And a water bottle! The resort has water filter stations all over to re-fill your flask!
