The pluses. Good location, attentive staff. Buffett is severely lacking, not even a good fresh fruit selection. Restaurants are meh. Property is showing its age. Pool side service and bars are good. Definitely better options for the price. Adult pool is nice, easy to get a lounge chair.

Feb 19, 2025The best resort in Cabo for young families
This is our second visit to Grand Velas in less than a year, and we are already looking forward to returning next year. We are a family of five with young kids (6, 4, and 2), and have stayed at various places in Cabo over the years (including One & Only Palmilla and Esperanza). Until our children reach their teenage years, this will be the only place we’ll return to for family vacations. The other resorts offer a more “exclusive” experience, sure, but nothing beats the overall value, convenience, and service that Grand Velas offers for families. To start, the rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with lovely terraces and ocean views. Dining options are plentiful and varied — the ambiance is nice at the every restaurant and food is definitely above average compared to most resorts. The pools are wonderful, the poolside service is friendly (if not always consistent), and staff are generally eager to please. But the showstopper here is the kids club - truly a one of a kind amenity. It’s basically a kid paradise from morning until night, with truly dedicated and competent staff who make sure the enterprise runs smoothly all day long. Like anywhere, there is always room for improvement, but for our family, Grand Velas has proven to be a near perfect experience each time.

Best Family Vacation Ever!
This was by far my best vacation ever! From the most beautiful hotel, to the amazing amenities, to the awesome pool, beach, scenery, to the great food and drinks, this was everything and beyond! And worth every dollar! We booked through Delta Vacations package and though it may seem expensive at first, keep in mind EVERYTHING is included… and I mean EVERYTHING! Food - breakfast, lunch, dinner, deserts, drinks! We took our infant - 6 month old child - the hotel provided a crib, a baby shower tub, baby needs and even our own personal baby Chef! YES - someone that cooks for the baby! As for toiletries, literally everything is provided. From tooth brushes, paste, floss, soaps, shampoos, lotions, deordant, sunscreen, suntan lotion/ oil! Literally everything!! Everyone was super nice and super respectful. We even got our own personal concierge / host… his name is Abdias! He literally planned our entire 6 day stay… booked our restaurants/ reservations! Our spa days! Our photoshoot. Whatever you needed, he was your 24 hour man around the clock…. I could keep going on and on… but just try it out! Worth every dollar and I would come back 10 out of 10 times! Love this place

Awesomeness
Incredible resort from beginning to end. The property itself was fantastic, but the staff are what really made the experience so great! Our concierges, Alexis and Natalie did absolutely everything to make our stay memorable. Eduardo in the breakfast restaurant was a real pleasure. Katrina in Sky Bar made the activities so fun. Adon in the spa was the perfect guide through the water experience. There are so many more but I can’t name them all. Everyone clearly loved their jobs. The restaurants were top notch. I highly recommend Frida (get the Mexican coffee) and Loto Robata (at sister resort next door). What a wonderful resort!

You just can’t beat it, and we tried a lot of places
Another magical experience at the Grand Velas in Cabo. This is our go to place. We came once and we were hooked. Really great families with kids. We have two teen boys. Just a great one stop shop. Unbelievable service. We had a few really tremendous waiters. One was Excel. This guy was just so happy to make sure we got everything we needed. Also Glerbin was fantastic. Laura at the concierge desk is our favorite. And our butler Abdi was perfect. The food is really high-quality, but really we come back for the service. Thank you so much
