Beautiful resort! I highly recommend! We stayed here for one week in the platinum section and it was worth it!
We stayed in 2 rooms in the platinum section and it was well worth it, however on the last day we did notice mold on the wall in one of the rooms, there was a damp smell and we told the staff. It is so much quieter in this section and it is right by the beach. There are a lot of coaties but they leave you alone if you don’t have food with you. I do recommend eating at the chill out one night so you can have access to that beach, but anywhere on this beach is beautiful, it is by far the nicest beach I’ve seen in Mexico. The one downside is the food is mediocre, the buffet is so loud with hundreds of people eating and kids crying, etc. I recommend the à la carte restaurants. The service was wonderful, the grounds were beautiful, and the entertainment was great.

Couldn’t wait to leave.
While the grounds are maintained very nicely it’s the only good thing I can say about this resort. Please guard your items and use the safe in your room for valuables. Hotel is extremely dated and really needs to be upgraded. The furniture in our room was very old and worn. Bed was uncomfortable and had a very bad smell. Our shower consistently leaked all over our bathroom floor. We called down to complain about it and they said they would fix it however they never did. Several outlets and lights in room did not work. This is very dangerous when your floors are marble. I fell pretty hard the first night there and developed a pretty big bruise on my leg. Plus there are a lot of leaks when it rains. Ate at several restaurants and the food was awful. We ate at the Mexican restaurant one night. The food was terrible. I ordered fajitas and the chicken was very dry. I never even received tortilla shells for my fajitas even after I asked a few times for them. Buffet is dirty. I had spilled some water on the place mat and went to wipe it off with my napkin. Napkin turned brown due to a dirty placemat. They also have an animal called a Coati (cross between a monkey and a raccoon) which will steal your things by the pool. It stole our shirt and a pair of sunglasses. It’s constant, & while they are very cute, it’s annoying and you can’t relax. So many nicer places to stay. I do not recommend this resort.

Great Getaway
I stayed in the Platinum on the Grand Riviera Princess side. The room was very spacious, comfortable bed, private balcony. Great service and very friendly staff - especially Ady, Celsa, and Salvador. Tennis lessons were a great addition with an excellent instructor, Jose Alfredo.

Winter Sun
Grand Riviera Princess Hotel is very dated and nothing like the TUI photos. Roof leaks everywhere when raining, and generally very tired looking. Layout, facilities, and especially staff, are very good. Plenty of pools and sun beds. Restaurants generally pretty good particularly Italian and international. Overall a very nice hotel, just really in need of a major refresh.

Had a great time here, big shout out to staff members "ADY & CELSA" for making our holiday by the Platinum pool area so memorabl
We stayed here for our 2 week stay, we had a problem with our room when we arrived but we where moved to a much nicer room by a great customer service team which their names slip my mine but the young ladies name started with A and was extremely helpful. We spend most of our time at the Platinum pool with the Fantastic... ❤️🍸 ADY & CELSA 🍹❤️ .... both ANGELS 😇 with a great sense of humour and attention for detail second to none. All the Staff at the resort where fantastic and couldn't do enough for us. The Entertainment at the shows where really really good very professional and the costumes lighting and sound was great, food very good, drink strong unless you ask for less alcohol, wildlife fantastic I could watch them all day. We would recommend staying here just pick the right configuration for your accommodation (regular, swim up, Platinum stay, villa stay or family club, we stayed at regular deluxe with a Platinum area upgrade which was great as we wouldn't have met ADY & CELSA whom both definitely made our holiday xx thank you LADIES xxx
