Apr 05, 2025Lovely little family resort!
Our family, with people ages 76 to 15 (and all ages inbetween), absolutely loved our time at Grand Park Royal. It is much more compact that the resorts we usually stay at, but it literally has everything you need for a fun vacation. It is fairly small (much smaller than the big Cancun properties, but it doesn't feel crowded. The grounds are lush and tropical, there are three different pools, and a great little beach for snorkeling. We saw some wonderful fish and it was fun to watch the cruise ships come and go. I thought this resort would be great for small kids as the main pool area is shaded during the day so they could swim to their hearts content. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff all over were very friendly and accommodating - especially the coffee shop ladies (they are so sweet). The drawbacks are probably the food - it isn't the greatest if that is important to you (but we are on an island, so I get it's harder to get stuff). We did not have good meals at the restaurants we tried. That being said we could always find something to eat at the resort buffet and it was such a great deal, that we just went out to eat for dinner in Cozumel (we had some amazing meals in town and right by the resort). The paths are also stone so if you have mobility issues that could make it tough. The main elevator was also out of service for the week we were there, so that could also be an issue for some. The elevators to the rooms were working though. All in all, we liked the resort and the island so much, this was a 5 star trip for us! We definitely plan to be back.

Overall Good Stay
Let me start by saying that I would definitely return. The facilities were nice. Room was clean and well maintained. We had arguably the best view on the premises. Staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was good, not great. The selections were adequate. The pools were nice and well maintained. Bartenders were very friendly, but varied in their competence. Drinks were not consistent. The biggest downside to me was the lack of beach frontage. I enjoy going to the beach and enjoying the water. The location prohibits you from enjoying those beautiful white sand beaches. The sea bottom is rocky. Having said that, the water is beautiful. So clear. Having that “reef” feel also adds to the snorkeling experience. Tons of sea life. All in all I would say the stay was worth it. Went on a couple excursions. Would absolutely recommend checking out the “other side” of the island. Totally different experience. Beaches are amazing. Water can be more rough, but stunning.

Better than we could have Imagined!
Our stay exceeded our expectations! The ground were so lush and beautiful, it felt like we were walking through a jungle. The staff was so pleasant and helpful. Our favorite bartenders were Ruben and Kevin! They were fun and remembered our drinks every time we came around. The pools were clean and gorgeous, the beach was amazing and perfectly sized with great snorkling views right off the beach. We had a nature view room but had an amazing view of the ocean and cruise ships. It was also very clean and they made sure it was cleaned daily. The food at the Italian restaurant was SO GOOD. We ended up extending our stay! Good vibes all around, highly recommend!

Great place to vacation!
Overall the Grand Park Royal is a great place to vacation; facility’s and setting is very beautiful and the staff in all areas of the resort are truly exceptional. Great Cacation GPR!!
