    Wife’s birthday staycation!

Great hotel in a wonderful location. We had a mountain view room. People at the check-in and check-out desk made us feel good right at the beginning of the stay. Room are perfectly decorated and modern. We had dinner at the lounge were the food and service was excellent.

The only thing "Grand" about this Resort is the price

I recently stayed at the Scottsdale resort for a family reunion. Although the staff was very friendly I expected more in terms of customer service from over $600 a night. First, we arrived on a rainy day. A rather uncommon event in the desert. The doorman/valet watched us struggle to make our way through the front door rather than offering to hold the door, or direct us to the ADA entrance which had an automatic door. Then there were issues with the rooms. They first placed me in a room that was near the bar. The noise from the nightly band prevented me from sleeping. They were kind enough to change my room, but it took two attempt. The second room they gave me overlooked the service entrance...a beautiful view of cement...not what I paid for. The second room was quiet with the view I paid for, but the phone was non-functional. This is a safety issue for any traveler. My sister's room had a leaky door wall complete with wet carpet from the rain storm. The food at the restaurants was mediocre at best. One night we actually had to ask for plates when sharable food was ordered, but the waiter didn't bring plates! One waitress attempted to tell us we could not split a bill between more than two room tabs...since when? Any restaurant will accommodate that request. When I spoke to the management I received a polite..."I'm so sorry, and hopefull we can make it up to you when you stay again". That won't be happening. Stay somewhere else and just come for the bar and the band, or buy a day pass for the pool.

It used to be a great property.

Stay at the Westin instead. Management is lacking in how to treat loyal customers. The rebuild and rebranding of the hotel has created a more sterile place where you now pay 22-36 dollars for a glass of wine. There are better places to invest Spring Break dollars.

    OK experience

World class resort with average service and accommodations. Valet service was excellent and very friendly. Male front desk staff very curt and rude. Condescending. Rest of front desk staff very courteous and helpful and went out of their way to apologize for their colleagues but did not make up for how we were treated during our stay. Expect more out of this resort.

    Meh experience

I would rate this hotel extremely favorable for location and aesthetics. I would rate it very poor for food and service within the hotel (except the valet team). I'm sure people like it for golf but that would probably be it. Pools were good but not great, really driven by the food and the service.
