Very pleasant resort
The resort is located in a few minutes drive from the Rio Hato airport and this is a very convenient. However, you should expect a line up at the airport, since your fingerprints will be taken and your QR code will be checked again. When we arrived to the hotel, we had to wait a few good hours to get to our room. As advice, prepare you beach clothes and just go for swimming. There is no “change room” there but you can switch your clothes in a washroom. It was mentioned multiple times about stairs in resort by other people, but there are also some technical roads which you can use instead of climbing stairs. Rooms are big and clean. We never had problems with hot water and it pressure. There are lots of restaurants and bars. Excellent choice of tropical fruits, you don’t see such variety often. We were able to find empty loungers during week days; however during weekend resort became really overcrowded. If you plan to be out of Grand Decameron just do it during these days. Overall, we enjoyed our vacation and if we have a chance, we will be back.

Hot and humid, oh wait, that’s the women
Arrived at the rio hato airport in good time, right before it poured! Easy to find our hotel transfer bus, and away we went, still raining when we arrived, and of course too early to get into our room, but we were given our arm bracelets and told we can eat or drink now and rooms would be ready by 3-3.30 pm. Well after a very long wet walk we found the Pacifico restaurant/ buffet and had lunch, at 3 pm room was ready and off we went to it, if you need help with bags just ask they will help, we did not need any but the second floor gives you a workout with a heavy suitcase. This resort is expansive! Lots of bars and eateries, and a lot walking with stairs, if you are not able to walk, you will not be happy here, Our room had a great ocean view and king bed and was clean, wifi worked better when out on patio than in our room, but did work great on the beach. Staff are courteous, but some are rude as a good few speak no English, so brush up on Spanish. The pools are well kept, pool bars are busy and usually understaffed, but what’s the rush, the ala carte restaurants were ok except for the poor Asian one, buffets were plentiful for breakfast lunch or dinner, food in our opinion was exceptional, anything ordered was served as ordered, and buffet food was great. The beach is great, just a lot of tidal surge and undertow, but nice when calm, lots of things to do here for children, many pools, different depths, and a fun water slide that we had a blast on. The drinks are fantastic and their brands tasted great, beer, wine etc. Evening entertainment started out for children then became adult time but we found it lacking in quality, keroke was worth a laugh as some need more practice. The off site excursions were not over priced and thoroughly enjoyable, anyone valley 6 hour trip, and the rain forest tram, zoo, Panama Canal boat ride and monkey island, 7 hours were both great, we had Jenny for both who is not only very pretty, but knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk to. Overall we enjoyed our stay, walking the beach, meeting some great people, the atmosphere, and the small town shopping, if looking to go somewhere you might like this place, cheers

Worst Hotel Experience Ever
Unacceptable experience from start to finish. We made a reservation online after being on the phone for hours and was charged immediately. We double-checked that we would be able to use the facilities at our arrival (around 1pm) until we waited for the room to be ready. Being Decameron members!. When we arrived, they informed us we wouldn’t be allowed to use any of the facilities (pool, beach access, etc.) after 3 PM. That’s not just inconvenient—that’s deceptive. Then, things got even worse. Their system was down, and despite having a confirmation number and proof of payment, the reservation was “not found.” We were left waiting with no explanation and no accountability. To top it off, we were charged for four adults—even though one of those “adults” was clearly a child. The staff refused to adjust the rate or acknowledge the mistake. I’ve never felt so misled or poorly treated by a hotel. To save yourself from stress, avoid this place at all costs. The lobby and social areas look old and poorly maintained. Celia, the front desk person, was rude and cheeky. After a long drive, we had to go and look for another hotel. Which was great by the way (Buenaventura Beach Resort)
