A good time, thumbs up!
GREAT service. Everyone greeted us in passing. Manuel, bellboy, was FANTASTIC. Super friendly and willing to help. Even spent some time answering some questions about living here. The employees appear happy and seem to really enjoy their jobs. Bring small bills to tip! Very clean grounds. We saw gardeners, painters, janitors, etc all day long. The rooms are little outdated but didn't bother us; we didn't spent much time there anyways. The food was good but a little too salty at times. We stayed in Block 3 and between 10pm and 11pm (bedtime for us) we heard the entertainment shows. Loud. Not sure if another block would be quieter, but this sounded as if the speakers were right outside our door. We will be back! Good times!!!

Issues started with Check-in and the overall experience was not worthy of one star.
Our issues started with Westjet separating spouses with different row of seats. What is the purpose of travelling with the family? So you can trave together.... Upon arrival, the instructions provided to booking agent were not carried out. One family with 6 people were given rooms in 3 different buildings. Check-in people took more than 1.5 hours (while you are frustrated and standing in line) and still the manager or assitant manager who were not available for another hour had to be involved to get the rooms in the same building that was too inconvenient for a 93 year old traveller. Next day closer rooms were promised so we did not unpack but that was delayed to another day. 2 days were already wasted. Only less than 5% os staff speak english. We wake up early morning by 3 am to enjoy vacation and then the people who are supposed to be expert at check-in can torture you by not giving you rooms as requested. Then you have to fight with people like Jose Lomeli the captain in Tropical restaurant to get the comfotable seats you desire. Waiters avoid communicating as they don't speak English. There is no service. Any small issue like: TV or AC does not work will take more than an hour of your quality time to resolve. I guess this resort is fully administered for catering to locals rather than tourists. Thye check you out earlier then your departure date and took us 45 minutes standing in line to get the room keys validated as per our stay. Be careful where you spend your hard earned money. They claim to have 4 star status but They would hardly earn 2 stars from us.

Give this resort a chance. They won’t disappoint you!
What a memorable vacation. We had been to this resort two years prior, and were amazed at the many upgrades during such a short period of time. Especially since this resort is so large. Most of the buildings have been painted, leaving some of the flashy colours in the archways and other parts of the buildings. Well done! There are new mattresses, tvs, safes, fridges, room cards, pool furniture, restaurant furniture. Truly a delight. The rooms are dated, but very clean (thank you, Marisa), and our water was hot with plenty of pressure. Our room (4327) was close to the beach (beautiful sunsets) and the pool. Well, one of the many clean pools. The staff were always cleaning! From the moment we arrived, we were pleasantly greeted by Brian, who speaks fluent English. Brian spent some time ensuring we were happy with our room. What a caring and compassionate member of the reception staff. Brian made us feel special. Thank you, Brian. Would have loved to enjoy at least one a La carte dinner, but booking was impossible. Maybe next time. The 8 pm live shows by the main bar were always enjoyable. The staff at the main bar went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy. Thank you Saul and Gabriel. You two bartenders are top-notch! We made it to one show at the Theatre. Stellar performances. Wish we’d made more of an effort to see the other shows. Thank you to Jenny, Erik and Lorenzo, among others, who made us feel cared for at the Flamingo/Tartugas for our meals at that buffet. I must say that they were all very attentive and friendly. Always smiling. Thank you Erik and Lorenzo for your excellent service at Ridizio snack bar. The most incredible French fries ever. Also, the chefs at both the Ridizio snack bar and Flamingo made the most moist, juicy and flavourful chicken every single day. The rice was moist and delicious. Loved the fresh fruit. Couldn’t get enough of the desserts. All in all, we were very impressed by everyone we came into contact with. Mostly Mexicans at the resort, and such friendly people. Downtown Bucerias is a 20 minute walk, or 70 peso taxi ride. The beach is beautiful. Chedraui is 10 minutes away at most. So, dear Decameron staff, thank you for providing us with a most memorable experience. We hope to see you again in January.

3 star at best
This is a 3 star resort at best. In fairness it is an older resort, a large place and needs some maintenance. The staff were great. The food however was generally terrible. The buffet seemed to consistently offer fish or chicken. They also ran out of food, at breakfast one morning they ran out of bacon at 8:00. They did have some themed restaurants. Avoid the Brazilian, they don't know how to do it properly. The Italian was good. They have an assortment of pools, some designated adults only which was nice but their pools didn't open til 9 in the morning and closed at 6 pm. I think this would be hard on families with kids, what do the kids do from six on. This was our first visit to this resort, we have visited many others in Puerto Vallarta over the years, and we wouldn't choose to go to this resort again.

Very poor if u have food allergies
Do not book if u have food allergies because no one there understands or cares !!! Had one food service worker at resort that cared but if he was not there . None of the others could not bother most never even read card or looked at items on buffet just said u can eat everything except the bread items , desserts and pasta ( and when u asked question as to y the one guy said it was all cross contaminated they never cared )as I even got a special card from hotel customer services but that was not ever helpful . Not once did they offer a dessert and if u read the card they made up they even say u can go buy your own food and they will cook it ( I paid for all inclusive ?????) I have never had an issue and been to Mexico lots .
