BEWARE BEFORE YOU BOOK
DO NOT book. As a Wyndham Diamond member I would never recommend this hotel. First sign of danger is plastered on the wall in the bathroom NON POTABLE WATER . That is your first sign to get out . Food is previous nights leftovers and selection is non existent.Shame on Wyndham for not disclosing this. This hotel caters to 500 guests every3-4 days from different parts of Mexico. Not for the US traveler.

Disappointed
We were at the Decameron in 2013 and quite enjoyed it. This time not so much. The hotel is very dated and in need of updates. We stayed in Block one, the view was beautiful. The room not so much. We had a king bed with a desk with 2 very little draws and 2 side tables with one tiny drawer in each. It had space for a dresser but there wasn't one. I felt so disorganized the whole trip with no storage options. The specialty restaurant booking system was a joke. We were a party of 6 in 3 different room. Impossible to book specialty restaurants on the app. I would like to say that the staff were great and the grounds are nicely kept. We will not return to this resort and will also stay away from the Wyndham Brand.

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL
This was our ninth trip to the Decameron and it will be our last, the resort has declined so bad in the past three years, the drinks and food was the worst l have ever seen. Our room was in Building one beach front we had no lights on arrival we had requested top floor as it was our 20th wedding anniversary and got bottom floor. We woke up the second night to find ants running around all our toiletries in the bathroom and black mold in the bathroom. We did not have hot water the entire two weeks we were there, we spent so much more money eating out which we normally never do. Complained to the resort West Jet Vacations big boss and all they did was paint our room, fumigate the ants, and put a cheap bottle of champagne in our room with some strawberries. This was the most amount of money we had ever paid to stay at this resort and it was awful awful awful l do not recommend at all. When the Ontario's teachers federation owned this resort it was amazing, very sad to see this massive decline in this property.

Needs improvement
This was my wife and I 7th time going. The staff is great the resort itself is in need of upgrades and maintenance. The food unfortunately was probably the worst it has been. The assortment is poor and it was cold. We went to the restaurants in town for dinner each night. The location of the resort is great in regards to walking into Bucerious.

Average Place
This All Inclusive has been taken over by Wyndham. Nothing too fancy but the pools and beach made up for it. They are painting over all the bright vibrant colors to a bland beige with terracotta trim which is a shame. We weren't told about about the renos they were doing (roofing etc.) so it was noisy at times. Rooms and bathrooms could use major upgrades. Tiles in showers are very slippery and showers need grab bars. They need hooks in the bathrooms and more places to hang wet clothes. Housekeeping was average and not always thorough. As far as I know, only one building has an elevator. The first room we were given was in a three story building on the 3rd floor with no elevator! I couldn't manage the stairs as I have one bad knee. We requested a ground floor room and were moved on the 3rd day we were there. The lampshade on the lamp on the bedside table in the second room didn't fit the lamp. Housekeeping took it away one day and never replaced it! It took 3 complaints to finally get a proper lampshade. Lighting is pretty poor if you want to read at night. Phone in room stopped working and they did send someone in to fix it the same day. It stopped working again two days before we left. Food was okay at the buffets but was hit and miss and not always hot. Nothing too special about the restaurants if you could get a reservation! We tried all but one and couldn't get into the Italian as it was always booked solid! We didn't go to the nightly shows as they started at 9:30. Not a great location as you had to take cabs or Uber to get anywhere. We wouldn't go back here.
