Horrible start
After a long day of travel we got to our room. Only 3 pillows for 4 people. Safe was broken. Fobs didn’t work. Room was dirty and phone was broken. Not a good first impression at all. Very disappointed . We then walked back to front desk as phone was broken. Was told phone could not be fixed until morning and pillows would be brought to our room. We requested 5 additional pillows and only received 2. Has to walk back to desk again….. the problems continue.

Another amazing stay
We recently returned to the Grand Bávaro Princess for our second stay, spending 11 nights in early December. Having visited the year prior, we were eager to see how the experience compared—and we were pleased to find several improvements that made this trip even more memorable. One of the standout differences this year was the noticeable improvement in the food quality. The breakfast buffet at the main restaurant impressed us with diverse options, including unexpected delights like caviar-style tapas, guacamole with salmon, and fresh mozzarella. Morning Mimosas were consistently well-prepared, thanks to the attentive team, especially Ingrit and Kennedy, who ensured guests started their day on a high note. For dinners, we gravitated towards the à la carte restaurants, particularly Il Tartufo and Focaccia. The dishes were crafted with care, offering both visual appeal and excellent flavor. Chef Enrico deserves recognition for his culinary expertise, and the staff provided warm, attentive service throughout. Our ocean-view room offered a serene retreat. The layout was functional and consistent with our previous stay, which added a comforting familiarity. Fatima, our housekeeper, went above and beyond to keep our room in pristine condition and accommodate any needs. The beach at Grand Bávaro Princess remains one of its strongest features. During our stay, the sand was clean, and the water was crystal-clear, free of seaweed, with gentle waves that made swiming our preferred activity. A double rainbow one morning added a touch of magic to the experience. The resort offers a lively yet balanced atmosphere. Activities such as bachata lessons were engaging, and the silent disco stood out as a unique and enjoyable event. The entertainment team works hard to cater to a variety of interests, ensuring there’s something for everyone. One minor suggestion would be to reconsider the lighting on the room balconies. The current lighting feels overly bright and clinical, which detracts from the otherwise relaxing ambiance. A softer, more atmospheric solution would align better with the resort’s overall aesthetic. This seems to be an issue all over the resort, where guests do their best to cover the light bulb with anything and everything, from socks to shirts and paper. The security would be as good with warmer and softer terrace lighting. Visiting in early December provided a wonderful mix of festive decorations and a tranquil environment, as the resort was less crowded. While we missed the flamingos from our previous visit, the grounds remain well-maintained and inviting. Still recommend this resort as an excellent choice for both couples seeking a romantic escape and families looking for a welcoming, activity-filled resort. The combination of beautiful surroundings, improved dining, and attentive service makes it a destination worth considering. Kudos to the entire team for their hard work and dedication. With a few small enhancements, such as improving balcony lighting, the guest experience could be even more refined. We left with fond memories and are already planning our next visit, for next December. Thank you to the staff for making our holiday so special!

Good hotel but I wouldn't go back
When I first arrived I was in love with the place I paid extra for a beautiful room 5311 beautiful beach, plenty of food and service overall but within the day we encountered several issues. First the attitude of some employers at some restaurants to be more specific everytime at the coffee place you need to ask for your pastries and they kinda ignore you while at least they are 5 inside there, I was observing everytime and they kept doing that is like they don't want to be there to help you and I felt I was bothering them just because I wasn't accessible from my side to actually get them. Secondly the guys with the pink shirts approaching everytime to try to sell us stuff, annoying. Even though I loved the food selection I ended up really sick one day like I never did before while in DR I honestly wanted to die since I was in excruciating pain, my husband got sick the next day after me. Im not gonna lie like I said I loved their food selection but I also witnessed a medium roach trying to climb on my husband while we were at restaurant TRAPICHE so I should have known better and last but not least the maids. I understand that DR is a place when people make little money compared to other countries so we left from 3 to 5 dollars daily for the housekeepers for their good job but one day we ran out of change and I decided to leave 2 while I went to get more change just in case they entered the room while I wasn't there, well on that specific day they only did the beds and nothing else, no mopping no sweeping so I felt kinda punished and that situation left us with mixed feelings my husband felt ashamed for leaving little and I was frustrated knowing that tipping is opcional and service should've been the same regardless of how much you tip, so there goes my experience with this hotel.
