    Great times at Margaritaville!

Came here with a group of 20ish people in Jan, 2025. Perfect resort for a group - small enough to always be close but enough to keep everyone happy. The beach is incredible and was loved by all. The pool is great too. Food options are limited but everything is generally quite good. There is a great restaurant called Coco Loco a 5-10 min walk down the beach road if you’re looking for something different. Amazing food and vibes. Our room was also fine - nothing spectacular but we had no complaints. Staff was also very attentive, especially Joy. If you’re looking for tours, go see Minor of Major Tours. He set up a couple (zip lining and rainforest) for our group and they were both great and the price was also better than his competitors. We saw sloths, a tapir, monkeys, a toucan and a viper snake! You’ll find him on the beach across from the hotel. We would definitely go back!

    Paradise in Costa Rica

I traveled with my spouse and my college age daughter. It was a very wonderful and relaxing week at this small resort. First time in Costa Rica and a Margaritaville! I read all reviews prior to this trip. Wow! We loved every aspect of this place and Costa Rica! The people, the resort, the food, and the beach were wonderful. Pros: Buffets, Restaurants & Drinks - Great food and nightly buffet had themes- Mexican, Costa Rican, Asian, etc. Different every night. We ate once in the Italian restaurant (get reservations morning of the evening you want to eat there) and the food was plentiful and very good. We loved being able to eat off a menu and tried about everything. I liked that there was still a bit of Costa Rican flair in their meals. Drinks were amazing (compared to Mexico resorts)! The staff worked hard and were very kind. Sometimes they were very busy so we waited-not a big deal. Nice that they went around the pool a few times a day with coffee/pastry or watermelon cart. Accommodations & Pool- Rooms were comfortable. We stayed in a family room, 1st floor and didn’t have a balcony. I missed that but the spacious room was a good trade off. There are signature bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion in the bathrooms. Also an iron and hair dryer. The toilet paper wasn’t an issue and better than most commercial properties. It was one of the cleanest hotel rooms we have stayed in. Housekeeper came daily. She was the only one that we spoke to that had limited English speaking abilities but she was very nice. Pool was lovely. At times we did have only sunny lounge chairs but we just waited and watched for a shady one to open up. Water temperature was great. Pool was clean. Music was great. Beach (public)- Ask the guard for beach chairs. We loved the public beach and interacting with the Costa Rican people. If any were selling something they were not pushy and very polite. The massages on the beach were the best and a fraction of the cost of the resort. The resorts were good but the beach massage was the best my husband has ever had! The beach was very walkable - I have back problems and had no problems walking without sandals. Also, there are some rocks in the ocean but not many so water shoes may be a good choice-my family chose not to use them and didn’t have a problem. The waves are mighty! They took my husband’s glasses when he wasn’t expecting it. Go out at sunset and watch the sun go down. Amazing! Activities & Walking- The pool area has activities planned throughout the day. Yoga, coffee class, music trivia, etc. Pretty low key but fun. Nightly live music in the bar upstairs was very enjoyable! We did walk to the pier and checked out the stores and ice cream on the way! Very easy walk on the road. We didn’t take any excursions. Raccoons, cats, Iguana and birds- all controlled and very enjoyable to watch! Cons: There are a few uneven steps getting to our room. It isn’t major but if you are challenged with walking up and down stairs and hit an uneven one it can throw you off balance. As far as I could see you had to go up or down stairs in order to get to any room. There may be handicap accessible rooms somewhere because there was a handicap bathroom at the pool. Though the music was a great mix of party, Mexican and contemporary country music there was no Jimmy Buffett music played! Please slip in a few of his songs because after all we are at Margaritaville! Getting to the resort from Liberia Airport was 1 1/2 hrs. Their roads are very rough and they drive fast, slow, slam on their breaks, etc. Just a different way but if you get motion sickness, take something before you go to and from resort. All in all, this is an amazing resort and country and I would highly recommend! I can’t wait to go back.

A small compact but Top Beach Resort!!

Our 2nd Margaritaville hotel and it didn’t disappoint! Having stayed in the massive Resort in Dominican Republic, this is a fraction of the size but every bit as big in heart and Soul!! Rooms: a little dated, and I hate having those connecting doors should a big group book, but aside from that the rooms are nice and the air con is great!! Pool: being a small hotel the pool is proportionate and nice, the pool bar is excellent and the drinks are fantastic!!! Really great drinks and service as they often come round to ask you at your lounger. The only negative is that there is very little shade as only a few loungers with a fixed umbrella. But other than that, really happy with this. All Inclusive: isn’t it just great to have an all inclusive that is simply just that!!! There are some small exceptions but it’s great to be able to pick n choose as you please!! Food and Drink: This is a real WINNER!! Really good food, and exceptional drinks, we have been so impressed!! Contemplated a 4 star here but for the drinks alone it deserves full marks!! Beach: this is a public beach, but it’s so authentic and the locals only add to that, it can be a bit wild but that again is what we love, nature at its best!! (We did find a sea snake so welcome to Costa Rica) lol All round really happy we chose this hotel, beach just on the door step, and brilliant staff all round. There are some caveats, it’s open to the public for the bar area but we found it more interesting, and they don’t prioritise them, we felt like we were treated as VIP.

    Good enough for us!

We stayed here for two nights with the all-inclusive package. If you’re into family-friendly environments, there were lots of kids around. The raccoons walking around the hotel at night was definitely an interesting sight! Fiorella at the Italian restaurant was fantastic and made amazing drinks. Highly recommend dining there—the pizza was incredible. The rooms were clean, the beds were super comfortable, and the drinks were great. (I tried many) Overall, a good stay to end our vacation!

Margaritaville Flamingo Beach & Mejor Tours

Enjoying our stay at the Margaritaville Flamingo Beach. A quaint beachfront resort on the Pacific side. Super friendly with worldwide guests! We had the pleasure of finding Mejor Tours with Menor Gonzáles which was AMAZING. We had a full day tour of Costa Rica. They arrived on schedule, on time departure, and totally accommodated a custom tour. Menor's knowledge of the country, wildlife, and how to spot animals was second to none! Toucans, sloths, tree frogs+++. We can't express our gratitude enough. ♡
