Margaritaville Paradise
Had a fantastic 2 weeks at Margaritaville. Great location, great beach literally ten yards from the Hotel grounds .Beware of the odd rock sticking out of the sand tho and at times there are quite big waves but these are great fun and boogie boards are provided by the Hotel .The hotel is very Clean and the staff are excellent . Food can get repetitive like most all inclusives but overall the food was of a very good standard . Special mention to Victor who worked tirelessly cleaning everything in sight from the moment we arrived to the day we left. The cocktails at the pool bar are amazing . Look out for Oreo and Rocky the hotels permanent guests. Great hotel!

Worst food and service in Costa Rica!
The service was very slow, but we expected that. The Cheese burger was cold, burnt, and hard, fries were cold, shrimp tacos were pure salt and cold, chips and salsa ...stale chips, salsa was ketchup with salt in it... or tasted like it. The place was not busy at all. Do not waste your hard earned money here! Go to Surfbox.... much much better!

Great Resort, Avoid Musty Rooms
Stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of March. Staff was nice, for the most part everything was clean, room was beautiful. We spent a lot of time in the pool and swim up bar was great. The food is hit or miss, chicken tenders amazing! All inclusive package is a great plus (worth the add on). The beach view was breathtaking. Only real problem we had, was a couple members of our party that was staying on the ground level rooms, there was a very strong musty smell in both rooms. They had requested to change rooms, but sold out and was unable to do so. Would I stay here again? Yes, but not on ground level.

Not the Best
This Hotel is not the best!!! First of all it seems that most (if not all) British travellers are placed in the rooms of the back of the hotel with a wonderful view of the car park, main road and other high rise complexes!!!! Dont' be fooled by the photo's - the way they have been taken makes it look as though you have jungle behind the Hotel - there is none..... The rooms themselves are fine and kept very clean - no complaints whatsoever there, BUT I had an interconnecting room with only doors between myself and the room next door. Unfortunately I had a VERY loud and partying Canadian in the connecting room, so it sounded like he was partying in my room until 3 am. I did, at one point, complain at Reception as I could not sleep and nothing was done about it. This happened on a few occasions!!! The proximity of the hotel to the beach is great, but the sea is quite rough and although I asked our TUI Rep if the beach was completely sandy, to which he replied yes, there are a number of rocks to the right. Because the tide was in and covering the rocks I ended up being swept across the rocks by the waves and on day one I injured by knee, foot and hand!!! Although most kids seemed to enjoy the high and strong waves I was surprised that there is no life guard on duty. We stayed at the Hotel for 2 weeks and the first week the pool was very dirty - although it was 'skimmed' every day to clean the leaf debris it wasn't until week 2 that we saw the pool being cleaned properly. It didn't help that the pool was inundated with screaming kids - none of the played in the kids pool. They were just so rude and ignorant. We never saw the pool area being swept either and, a word of warning, the slabs around the pool get VERY hot - too hot to walk on with bare feet, although several parents made their kids walk on them, screaming as their feet were burning (adults had flip flops or sandals on, so couldn't understand why the kids were screaming!!!). Also, not enough shaded areas around the pool. It was VERY hot and although there are plenty of sun beds - there is very little shade. You can ask the Security Guards to take sun beds down onto the beach - they are very polite and helpful!!! Pool Bar staff were very friendly, although we were passed over on several occasions in favour of the louder Americans..... they tip more than we do!!!! The main Restaurant is a disaster.... the food is barely tepid with very little choice and the staff were, again, mardy at best!!! We did complain about being ignored - we waited 40 minutes one evening for desert and gave up in the end and left. The staff in the 5 O,Clock Somewhere bar are amazing - pleasant, friendly, efficient and the only asset to the Hotel IMO. Drinks and food outside of the Hotel are mega expensive. We did do a couple of trips which were great, but such a long day with a lot of travelling. We did meet some amazing people also staying at the Hotel, which made up for the many issues - especially other Brits and Canadians!!!! I would absolutely NOT stay at this Hotel again - it needs too much sorting out and not the place for a quiet holiday with the number of kids!!!!

Very good stay with Stunning Sunsets
We stayed in February for two nights and three days. In hindsight, I think an extra night would have been ideal, but overall, it was more than enough to enjoy the experience. The food was good—there’s definitely room for improvement in terms of flavor, but generally, it was satisfying. That said, the pizza at the Italian restaurant was outstanding! All the pizzas were great, but the four-cheese pizza was by far my favorite. Customer service was good, and the staff was attentive. However, at the pool bar, I noticed that locals didn’t always receive the same level of attention as international guests. It would be great if service were equally prioritized for everyone. The pool is spacious and perfect for relaxing or playing, especially if you’re traveling with kids. The beach, located just across the back of the hotel, is absolutely stunning. And the sunsets? Simply breathtaking—some of the most beautiful and vibrant I’ve ever seen. Truly an unforgettable sight!
