Great
Staff very welcoming. Problem with room at check in but sorted very quickly. Rooms were very good, the place has just had a re furb. Food was very good, only buffet was breakfast with a good choice. Could order omelettes if you asked. So close to the beach, just over the road/track. Strong currents in the sea, great for wave hopping though. The only down side for us was a tropical storm which meant a lot of rain but would come back again. Staff at the 5 o clock anywhere bar were superb as was the food. Go on organised trips but be aware a lot of travelling, up to 3 hrs each way but so worth it. Preferred currency seems to be US dollars but we took colones and found we got a better rate. Our advice is to take a bit of both if you like to get out and about.

Please no more Jimmy Buffet
In the resort at the moment and have absolutely loved the stay despite the weather, which is finally starting to turn for the better. I will put up a more detailed review after our stay. But for now I would love it if you could enhance our last few days in your wonderful resort by not playing any more Jimmy Buffet music. Please vary up the playlist as this will ensure my last few days will be a better experience for me, my wife, residents and these poor staff who work so hard.

Great place, great staff.
I travelled to Playa Flamingo with family in November 2024. The hotel is very nice, very clean and in good order (no half broken pool chairs or furniture and everything in the room works). I must say that even the pool tables were like brand new which I have never seen in a resort. We happened to be there during the floods caused by Tropical Storm Sara and they were very accommodating with extending our stay seeing our flight was cancelled multiple times. The food is good and the beach beautiful. It is a public beach which I liked and we had a lot of fun boogie boarding. The staff is excellent. I enjoyed talking with Rudolph in the morning. They are always smiling and attentive. At the pool bar Elias and Gabriel were awesome. They were always willing to tailor our drinks whichever way we asked and always did it with a smile. We had a really nice time and really enjoyed the resort. The only thing I would improve on is the music. It's everywhere, all the time and all the same (except in the italian restaurant). Unless you go to the beach there is nowhere to escape the beach/salsa/Jimmy Buffet playlist which gets old quickly. It would be nice if the music was softer or lower or that there was none at all in the morning at the breakfast buffet, or that it would start later at the pool or that there would be moments where there was no music at the pool and we could just hear the sound of the waves, maybe have different music at dinner or not so loud, ect. Other than that we really quite enjoyed the place.

Food options need improvement. Same menu in 3:places.
Average resort on nice beach. Pool was nice. The lobby was welcoming and staff throughout the resort were friendly and attentive. The Resort reopened one day before we arrived Nov. 2. After 2 months redo. Some of the kinks were not worked out. Furniture was lacking in some rooms . But, by mid week things seemed to have a better flow. Halls were noisy especially at night. This resort needs more food, options. Three of the 4 restaurants have the same menu. No traditional foods were served. Breakfast had a good variety.

A Great Place to Chill
The rooms are well appointed, clean and have been renovated and the staff were very friendly and accomodating. The all inclusive is good. Lots of food and beverage options. The beach and ocean is clean and haswhite sand. Tamarindo is close if you want an afternoon of shopping.
