Nice rooms close to beach, but noisy
We stayed for 2 nights at Ewa Hotel Waikiki before departing on a cruise ship. The check-in was easy and our room was enormous and comfortable. The location is on a street that is mostly a backstreet, but that was not a problem at all. The beach was a close walk, as was a store that had some food and other items (although at beachfront prices.) There were light cooking facilities in our room. The two major issues are the noise and the large resort fee (with absolutely NO resort facilities.) The noise might not be a problem for heavy sleepers. There was some loud music at night that came in through the window from someplace outside. One night there was a very loud and raucous party two rooms down from ours. It was well after midnight. After over an hour with no relief, I walked down the hall and politely let the folks know that their noise was disturbing people who were sleeping. It got considerably quieter after that (but not completely quiet.) The resort fee is a scam. They all do it in Waikiki, but there should be some element of being a resort if you are forced to pay for it.

Good value option!
I was looking for a place to sleep as my time was going to away from the room. Why spend needless money? Comfortable clean close to the beach.

Terrible
Do not stay at this hotel under under any circumstances or for any reason. It would literally be better to sleep in your car. I am not exaggerating when I say they the moment I walked through the door into our room, I nearly burst into tears. The sheets are stained and yellowed, all the popcorn ceilings and old fashioned lighting make you feel like you’re in the 1980’s, and on top of that you can hear through the paper thin walls other guests, as well as the disgusting smelly hallways where people constantly slam their doors. We could not wait to get out of there, however the hotel did not even refund us, even though we only used one night out of the three that we Booked.

Worst stay of my life
one of the ladies working at the front desk charged me over $5,000 when I was supposed to get a refund for my stay due to the uncleanliness of the room and restroom she also laughed in my face as she did it and refused to give me a receipt and was making all kinds of excuses and she didn’t even tell me she did it until I seen my bank statement. She also sent the “refund” to the wrong person and email after her asking me how I spelled it and her confirming the right way before I left the hotel. There were numerous roaches in the room and restroom. also I did not feel safe in the hotel at all. The hotel also was charging my card $2,500 and $100 a day when I was not even staying at the hotel.

Spend The Money And Book A Hotel That's Actually Worth It
Comparing the hotel from the provided pictures versus the hotel and rooms in real life was a very underwhelming feeling as well experience overall. First arrival thoughts and feelings were outdated, underwhelming, and feeling like we got scammed due to having the expectations from the pictures of the hotel and rooms provided on the Ewa Beach Hotel website. When actually arriving at the hotel room, once walking in already feels like it's not cleaned well and cramped because of how small the main room and bathroom is. One of the charging outlets towards the bed side didn't work for the duration of our 4 day stay, the kitchenette was not what we've expected and the microwave was displaced on the table rather than what the picture displayed on the website which was above the small metal stove and sink. The bathroom was very small and cramped; specifics about the bathroom was that the shower head as well as the plastic that surrounds the light switch wasn't screwed in properly, toilet felt small for adults to use, and this is the first hotel that doesn't provide the bathroom complementaries of a shower cap, q-tips, shampoo and conditioner. I guess the "positives" about this hotel is the location because everything is within walking distance in Waikiki (ex. zoo, beach, abc stores, restaurants, etc.) it's more budget friendly than surrounding hotels around the general area, and it's at least a roof over your head.
