Oct 20, 2024Emotions... Great service and staff.
Stayed Oct 11-18 and we were 2 families , My wife and me plus Daughter and family. This is only the second time we have been to Puerto Plata. Most of our other 28 vacations have been to Punta Cana and Cancun. We had a swim out room and they had a family room with 2 beds and a day bed. Flew in from Toronto with Air Transat on Friday night at at hotel in time for dinner. Weather then and all week was Sunny, Hot and Humid with one big rain storm around 6PM Saturday Evening for a couple of hours. Water came down the hallways and under the door and we used all the towels to keep it from flooding the room. That was it for the week, no more rain. Hotel did a great job cleaning up and by noon Sunday , no sign it even happened. Service level from all staff was excellent, friendly , and attentive. My only beef was both myself and my travel agent asked that our swim out room had a king size bed and was an end unit ( 4 units to floor) and we were celebrating our anniversary and my daughter's 50th birthday. We were given an inside unit with two beds. Check phots and see the inside units have a smaller cramped balcony, end units are bigger. No one did anything for the celebrations and with out advanced notice both Mexican AND Italian restaurants were closed on my daughters birthday, which she hopped to go to. We got switched to a king room end unit next day which was nice considering the hotel was quite full for weekend only guests. I can understand hotels booking local clients at this time of year because the rest of the week it was very low capacity. Great for short lines in the buffet and plenty of chairs available around pool or at beach. Not sure if this is normal in Puerto Plata in October or due to threatening Hurricanes, but in any case worked out great for us. Hotel premises are in great shape, well maintained and clean, pool guy cleaned and checked our swim out pool twice a day. A couple of SUGGESTIONS for Owner/management... Put a toilet paper roll holder in bathroom (awkward having to reach for roll on back of toilet) Put some sort of chair in rooms, even a desk chair at the desk, nothing to sit on except the bed. and some sort of cushion for the loungers would be great. The people working there seemed happy in their jobs and really make everything else great. Food was fairly good in main buffet, with some variation, themes some nights, Italian was fantastic, service and food, and for men the only one requiring long pants to enter. Mexican was equally good and a little more casual. The beach restaurant is pleasant with some ocean breezes and usual food, like hamburger, hotdogs, pizza etc. The beach is one of the better beaches I've seen, with lots of chairs, some good sun shelters and sandy bottom for walking out. Evening entertainment a bit week, mostly in the pool courtyard , but that may be due to the low guest numbers that week. Overall we were pleased and happy and would recommend this hotel as a worthy vacation destination.

This was such an amazing experience. I can’t even find one single complaint about this resort. In comparison to others I’ve been too, this is beyond the best. Don’t even let me get started with the food attendant Junior Leon omg he was amazing. He served us at Oregano with so much love, care and patience to satisfy beyond our expectations.

Very Friendly Staff
Excellent service st bars and Restaurants . Vielka and Edileiny were especially nice, and very good servers. They made this vacation great. Food was not that good, entertainment was hardly anything. But this resort is very quiet and relaxing, with very friendly staff

Fun and welcoming resort!
Amazing hospitality, the employees were exceptional, very friendly and felt very comfortable staying here. The A/C in the room was excellent, the food was very good. The pools were beautiful and clean. The entertainment was fantastic. I would recommend it to family and friends.

Excelente Customer Service
My husband and I,are celebrating our anniversary and we decided to get away a little, we booked at Emotion by Hodelpa and I think it was an excellent decision. I love to travel and I do it often on my experience I loved this hotel was impressed by all of the staff The maids ensured my room was immaculate on a daily basis and the receptionist was very friendly and also extremely helpful.. at the night
