Amazing trip! I was kind of skeptical based on some of the reviews but when we got there all of that was out the door. From the moment we arrived to when we left, we were treated with top notch service. We arrived and was met at the door and walked to the preferred lounge for check in. Check in was quick and easy and they had food and a bar there if we wanted anything. The views were amazing too. It was pretty busy for a FEB trip some of the restaurants had long wait times so we weren’t able to get a table. They don’t take reservations so you just have to go restaurant hopping or hit the buffet for dinner. The beach was absolutely the best!!! It sits on a sandbar so you can keep walking and the water is only to your legs. There is no seaweed so has the best shades of clear blue water. The spa was also amazing, it had to be one of the top spas I’ve been to. I loved how it wasn’t crowded and we were able to fully enjoy the water features before the massage. We had a preferred king room with balcony so we had the views of the pool/beach which was the best views cause we were also able to see the shows from our balcony. The hotel is also a couple blocks away from the ultramar ferry. We took the ferry in the morning to isla mujeres and then rented golf carts to drive around the whole island for a day and came back. We were able to go shopping and visit some local bars/restaurants and grabbed some street food too. Some notable staff - Misael and Geovanny at the preferred bar and beach. Everyone at the spa and also preferred lounge. All of the staff were really super friendly and helpful.

Wonderful hotel and beach. Fantastic staff.
We stayed here for 2 weeks. Came from the UK. We absolutely loved our holiday here! The staff were all so kind and helpful, Hector welcomed us like old friends. Russel in the lobby bar was so friendly and chatty, I’m trying to learn Spanish and the staff were all great and very nice when I tried chatting in Spanish to them. The food in all the restaurants was tasty and fresh. Lots of choice. We upgraded to preferred club which was well worth it. Our room was clean and comfortable, slight issue with the toilet was fixed quickly. The beach was gorgeous! beach/pool waiters were attentive and happy to take orders. We actually didn’t use all the pools as we enjoy the sea, but did go in the preferred pool a couple of times and the jacuzzi. Entertainment was good fun, fire show, silent disco, rock band, karaoke, etc. something different every day. Tequila tasting was informative and fun. Staff soon get to know you, special mention to Russel lobby bar, Carolina and Jorge in the world cafe. And the young man who hands out the silent disco head phones. All lovely people. Alejandro on the beach too. The bar staff in the preferred lounge also very nice and chatty. I highly recommend Dreams Sands and say ignore any bad reviews, it’s a lovely place.

Most beautiful beach we have ever seen!
From our first look at the resort when walking in, we were amazed by the beautiful ocean view. Our UVC person, Cristy met us and welcomed us. She was great to work with us during. She checked with us several times to make sure we were doing well. Then Danielle & Veronica at our Preferred check in made our stay wonderful. They upgraded us to a Master Suite and it was so huge it was like a condo. We got there before our room was ready and went and ate lunch at the World Buffet. Jorge & Humberto were exceptional waiters. Attended to our every need while dining. We ate breakfast and lunch there and always requested their area. We also had Rudolpho and Manuel as waiters also. They were great waiters too. One of the first nights there we went to El Patio for supper. There was a group of us (7) and were celebrating a birthday. Aldo took us to the wine room and we had the best dinner experience we had at any of the resorts. He brought us plates of everything to try. Things we wouldn’t normally try. It was an exceptional experience. Caesar our waiter was great. Also helped us reserve tables for the dinner shows each night they had them. He was great to work with. At the dinner shows we had the following waiters and they were great waiters. Ernesto, Jaime, Luis and Victor. The night we went to the Portifino restaurant Rangel was our waiter and he was excellent. The following Dreams entertainment team staff made our stay amazing. They had lots of activities to do each day. I loved the pool volleyball. The evening shows were excellent. Thanks so much to these staff members. Bryan, Yamilet, Manuel, Diana, Natalia, Favio, & Alejandro.

Highly recommend!
We spent our entire trip trying to figure out where the negative reviews came from. The beach and ocean were pristine. Crystal clear waters, and clean water and sand. We didn’t even go in the pool once because the beach is right there and it was so stunning. The food was all delicious with a variety of options, even for pickier eaters. Staff always asked about allergies when we went to a restaurant. A simple, but appreciated touch. The al a carte dinners were wonderful but the buffet was just as good. There were tons of activities during the day and nightly shows with very talented performers and things to do like karaoke and a silent disco. The room was well maintained and always clean. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioner worked well. But the best part was all of the staff. I wish I could list them all because everyone was so kind, helpful, and truly cared about their roles. Noe, Raul, and Jorge at the buffet were attentive always made us feel welcomed. Jenny kept our room immaculate the whole time. Elmer and the other daytime bartender (I’m sorry I can’t remember his name) at the Barracuda bar made delicious drinks always with a smile. Sergio was so attentive on the beach, making sure everyone was taken care of. Louis at the Himitsu restaurant was also fantastic! We cannot wait to return and are already talking about next year! Dreams Sands holds a special place in my heart as my now fiancée proposed to me on the beach one beautiful evening. Thank you for the best trip ever!

Best beach, great food, excellent staff & lots of entertainment.
Best beach within a distance of a long walk. ALL the staff & entertainers were excellent - helpful and friendly. Non-smoking was wonderful. Rooms were very nice. All the restaurants had great service and very good options. I don't know who the picky reviewers are but we've been to many resorts and this ranked as one of the best experiences ever, if not the best. It's not a large space, so don't expect seclusion. But right on the beach, so never used the pool!
