Great family vacay destination
We had a great time at Dreams Macao Beach! The hotel was very nice, clean and very well taken care of. We took our 9 and 11 year old sons and were blown away at how family friendly the resort was. There were things to do everywhere you looked and so much entertainment put on by the staff. They were both able to play in the waves, they are pretty big and it is a little rough but nothing I felt uncomfortable with and they thought it was awesome. It was the first time we have taken our family to do something like this and the resort was absolutely perfect for what we were looking for, we will recommend to all families as a great destination.

An action packed family vacation
Something for everyone on this family vacation with 4 children ages 6-11 and three adults : Kiddie pool , large pool , slide park , zip line , tennis , basketball , beach were all part of the fun . The beach had a big surf so lots of fun in the waves for swimmers . Lifeguards were always monitoring because of wave size , rocks and undertow with a red flag flying all week . The resort is small enough that all facilities are an easy walk ( no need for trolleys ) Dining options were excellent and no need to make reservations on day 1 . We actually liked the buffet best . Staff are wonderful . We rated this vacation 10/10 and will be returning .

Very disappointed!
I was there 4 nights and my room was cleaned only once. There was no hot water to shower. I had to request bath towels because house keeping didn't come. The restaurants closes early and not many activities on the property. There was an activity on the beach that ended at 10:30 and when we left the earth Day show there were anywhere to go and eat.

Room Descriptions Misrepresented
The rooms that they call partial ocean view and charge significant premium have zero ocean view. Management refused to make a change or adjust the price of the room. You have be on the balcony to even see a pool. Picture is attached. I would have no problem with this room if i would not be charged significantly higher fee per day.

Delicious food, beautiful beach, and great kids club at Dreams Macao Beach!
We were very pleasantly surprised by the wonderful experience we had at Dreams Macao Beach. Being our first time in the Dominican Republic, we did not know what to expect. From the moment we stepped foot into the resort, we were greeted with friendly faces and a welcome drink. The check-in process could use some improvement, they can benefit from more staff at the check-in. We got there right before 3pm and our room wasn't ready yet. We were offered to go get some food at the buffet while we waited which we did. When we came back, our room was ready. The resort is well maintained with beautiful grounds and landscaping. Our children (5 and 8 years old) loved the water slides, lazy river, and kids water park area. We loved swimming at the main pool by the beach and although my 8 year old loved the waves at the beach, it was a bit too strong for my 5 year old. There was always security and lifeguards on the beach, as well as many others swimming in the ocean, so it is definitely fine for stronger swimmers. The kids club (Explorer's club) exceeded our expectations, our kids looked forward to going there every day. Just a few fun activities that they got to do included: pizza making class, painting by the pool, snorkeling for treasures at the kids pool, pirates treasure hunt on the beach, kids disco night and camping/movie night in the evening. Rosa, Lindura, Rapunzel, Moana, and Dora were amazing at keeping the kids engaged! My usually shy kids were very receptive to them! The food quality and options were great and we loved that we never had to make reservations at any of the restaurants. The longest we had to wait was for dinner at Oceana on a Friday evening but it was only about 20 minutes. They give you a pager so you can still roam around the area as you wait for a table. We are from Toronto and consider ourselves foodies and we were impressed by the dishes, especially the ceviche and octopus dishes! We also loved the Dominican food offerings at the buffet. We are already looking at other Dreams resorts for our next vacation after having such a great time at Macao Beach! Don't hesitate to book this resort!
