I would recommend this hotel if it wasn't closing down. I feel horrible for the staff that will be losing their jobs. Everyone we came in contact with, housekeeping, entertainment, concierge, service staff were all so amazing! I wish everyone the best!

Apr 02, 20257th stay because we absolutely love the Dreams / Secrets Hotel brand and the Costa Rican People
I didn’t expect to return and think that Dreams Las Mareas could be better than the 6 times previously! It was our absolute favourite holiday of all time and this was due to the exceptional kind and friendly staff. Where do I start……..The food was fantastic, the cocktails are top-shelf, the hotel grounds and landscaping are out of this world and utter paradise, the pools are immaculate and constantly being cleaned and tested. The hospitality and kindness of the staff, is what makes this hotel special and unique, giving you the personal touch. We were made to feel so special and part of the Dreams family team. Our room was 3720, Preferred block 3 on the 7th Floor, with spectacular views from our balcony. We woke up seeing the Ocean and the forestry above and beyond the eye, and the sound of the magnificent wild-life. We met our old friends; Felix, Luis-Carlos Wizzy, Edgar, Jesus, Natalia, Fabian, Juan-Carlos, Brian, Fernanda, Gabriel, Roger, Jefferson, Kaylor and many more. Plus, we made new friends too including Brenda, Eladio, Kattia, Stephane, Jose and Eladio. All the staff are an absolute credit to Dreams and ensured we had the best holiday of all time, which we will always hold a special place in my heart. We ate breakfast at Preferred Portofino, which had a fantastic selection of food on their menu with table waiter service plus you also have access to the buffet food too. All the 6 pools are amazing and a pool for every occasion and for the vibe you fancy. There are 2 Preferred pools The Preferred Adults-Only pool is at the top area, with the Preferred bar. Once again Luis-Carlos (aka Wizzy) really did take special care of us, nothing was ever to much trouble and he went above and beyond to make our holiday extra-extra-extra special. I love the printed information sheets Louis gave to us every morning, which included daily information like Drink of the Day, times of restaurant openings, actives, evening entertainment, weather, announcements and more. The Preferred pool bar had top-shelf liquor. Thank you to Brenda the bartender / pool waitress for the delicious cocktails and bringing us surprise cocktails. The Preferred Beach bar had been recently renovated and enlarged and looks like a tiki beach bar and a larger selection of drinks then previous years. I absolutely love the ambience of the preferred lounge and a special mention to one very skilled and talented Barmen Edgar, who is the most knowledgeable and kindest bartender. Edgar made the most amazing cocktails and took great pride in producing very fancy cocktails. Edgar would surprise us with the most incredible cocktail creations, of his own recipes. The Preferred lounge bar has the best cocktail menu, it is very stylish and relaxing, which also has a selection of foods. Entertainment Team Jesus and Natalia made our holiday so much fun with the crazy games, water aerobics, morning hikes, sunset kayaking. There was never a dull moment and I thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic activities that Jesus and Natalia arranged including the swimming relay / Olympic game. They always both have such a great energy vibe and always stopped to have a chat. My Favourite restaurant was Himitus, the food was outstanding. Thank you to Kattia for making the best tropical mojitos and Stephane for your fantastic waitress service and bringing us Shots….. We loved the Banana Chimichanga dessert at the Sea Side restaurant at lunch. Thank you to Eladio for your brilliant waiter service in the evening. The list could go on and on how spectacular the hotel is.

Had a issue with my room door lock. Spent about 5 hours with staff and the result was they blamed my key being affected by my phone. Very next day the door lock does not work at all. I’m on the top floor, so lots of up and down walking back and forth. I asked them to check out the lock in the morning. Spent some time walking around while I waited. Checked the lock around noon and found they didn’t do anything. So I had to track down cleaners and staff to help me. They spent about a hour and used a laptop to fix whatever happened to the lock. I had to paid to upgrade to get me out of that experience. Totally ruined my mood and took me away from my friends who I came to support their wedding for.

Great Place
Beautiful spot, great pool, great food options. Hard to get rooms near each other which was very disappointing when traveling with a group of families. A bit far away from other attractions, but the resort itself was set in a beautiful remote spot. The monkey's were fun to watch on the balconies.

Why positive reviews matter ?/ because I would like to boosting reputation for the Resort I went in march 2025 Dreams Las Mareas Costa Rica . The excellent service , good experience ,manner , quality food , clean restaurants is solely determined by five star rating , the reality is much more nuanced. I was completely impressed with their professionalism and customer service , the ambiance and always feel comfortable .The staff friendly and highly skilled . As a matter of fact they are as trustworthy as recommendations from friends and family . Thank you All for a beautiful WELCOME - Costa Rica Rica Resort , I will always choose ...like this year was a five times when I chose every year vacation in the different Resort in a same Country .
