    Disappointed!!!

    Overall nice resort with good service but lousy food. This resort falls under the Hyatt brand and I just expected more. The employees were great but the fact that I was served the same foods for breakfast everyday and I received a very well done omelet and my husband got crunchy over easy eggs is a deal breaker.

    This wasn’t it!

    Just returned from a 5 day trip from this resort. The food was not good! I survived on pineapple and cantaloupe. The resort was nice. But the cats was a problem for me. You usually see 1, but they had a whole colony there. They ran all over by the pool area. Wasn’t scared of people and were constantly scratching and were jumping all up on peoples things. The black gnats or black bugs flying all around the pool area were in clusters. Like walking into a swarm of gnats. Horrible!!! Soon as you tried to catch some sun, they were swarming you. Nope. That wasn’t it. Then I stayed in room 219. Roaches in shower and bathroom. Also roaches in the closet. Moved to another room 506. Same. Roaches!!!!!! Nope. Not having it or bringing them back to my home. So no this resort wasn’t it for me at all. Only gave it a 2 stars because the staff was nice and friendly. But won’t be returning.

    And outstanding experience, you will come back

    Everything was outstanding, I love the pools the shows. The food all the restaurants are delicious. Jonathan and Michel the entertainers are very friendly and very helpful, you will have and outstanding time. The rooms are very big and comfortable.

    problems with the Resort

    The resort was fine, had some reservations at first after reading some reviews, however we had a great experience. We were a group of 7, 4 males and 3 females. Two of us was met as we arrived and taken to the VIP consigere for our reservation where we were greeted with champagne. Two of arrived before the rest of the group. One of us had the VIP reservations, but the rest of us decided to upgrade as well. The rooms were nice with balconies and a great view of the oceans or poolside. Sebastian brought our bags to our rooms. Thefew issues I had was not bad enough to take away from our visit. One issue was the fact that when we took one of their taxis to the airport to pick up three of our guest (for $100 US dollars), we had trouble getting back into the resort, because they didn't have one of the guest on their list (again, we were in their taxi). The Portofino Resturant waitress was a bit slow and confused with our orders. The rest of the food we ate was in the Coco Cafe and the selection was bland and I wasn't impressed. No Pepsi at the resort which was an issue for me, since I do not drink alcohol and the only drink I prefer is Pepsi. At the beach, my crew enjoyed the fish, and thought it was excellent. I thought the staff did an excellent job for the most part and mantance even came and assisted me with hooking up my fire stick, so i could watch tv in English. The pool staff and the Spa also did an outstanding job. One person in our group had an issue in bringing a friend back to his room and was made to pay $300 to bring her in, even though he paid for the room for two people. I really had an issue with that. I thought the taxis were a bit expensive, an Uber is cheaper, but then you have another issue getting in and out of the complex. The biggest issue with the resort was eating outdoors with the birds dive bombing your food and stealing or the cats constantaly begging for food, or the gnats flying around. The Caribbean Sea was murky, not a nice clear blue like in the Dominican Republic. However, that being said; I would visit again

    Miguel is the best!

    Great resort overall! Friendly staff and very helpful! Request Miguel when looking for a taxi from the hotel. He is the absolute best and takes pride in knowing you are having a great experience. Very attentive and will also give you personal tours of the city and recommend the best places to see and go!
