    Beautiful but terrible service

Beautiful property and the island is gorgeous However would not recommend this property! The service was horrible and the food choices were very limited! We are actually vacation club members and this is by far the worse resort we have ever stayed in. We were embarrassed recommending and taking our family to this resort.

You Can Do Better, Not Sure How You Can Do Worse

This place is absolutely dismal! We have traveled to numerous "All Inclusive" places around the world, and it would be difficult to mention one worse than this place. Where to begin... The "beach" is about 50 feet wide. There is NO WAY to walk anywhere else, beach-wise, as the sides consist of high stone walls. As bad as that is, there are not nearly enough lounges near said beach for the number of guests. This also holds true for the number of lounges around the pool, but that is another story. Towels? Good luck getting one (even if you're one of those idiots who insist on "reserving" your chair(s) hours in advance, just so it's available for the 2 or 3 hours that you may use them). Towels are stocked once in the morning, once in mid afternoon. You would think that they are made of gold. The restaurants? There are 4, and one of them is always closed at least 1 night of the week. Want steak? You have to go to the Sea Side Restaurant (which isn't even LABLED!!). To keep this shorter, once you get in, it will be at least 15 minutes before anyone askes you what you want to eat and drink. Another 15 to 20 minutes later, your appetizer shows up with your drink. Hope you weren't hungry or thirsty, because it will be another 45 to 60 minutes before your main course shows up (and probably NO refills on your drinks). The Oceana Restaurant? Unless you get Giante (Gia for short), you are again in for a long wait with lousy service. Giante is fantastic, and she even remembered the changes that we made to our orders when we went to that place later in the week! The Portofino Italian restaurant is pathetic. If you go there, plan on another hour and a half wasted on very mediocre food, with very apathetic staff. The Marketplace eatery is where you go when you have nowhere else to go. It ALWAYS offer the same food, regardless of which time of day. At Supper, they are supposed to at least offer wine, like the other restaurants. Good luck finding someone to serve you at your table! Oh, the "bars" at this "all inclusive"? The main bar, Rendezvous, is populated most times by 1 or 2 people who could not prepare or pour drinks any slower of they had a gun to their head. There is another bar at the far end of the pool area, but the server is often gone. The 3rd bar (it also serves as the Seashore Restaurant) is NEVER OPEN! As far as the food is concerned, the chicken is great, no matter the restaurant, no matter how it is served. Beef? It's amazing how badly this place can treat a piece of meat. At one place I ordered it pink in the middle (not bloody), and the waitress said she would talk to the cook. An hour later, I was served a piece of shoe leather. I haven't even mentioned how stingy this place is with the "pours". Talk about a "splash" of alcohol? Believe me, that's all you get. No honest pours, just a plastic cup of ice with juice or whatever, but not an honest drink. (The only place that we've been to that can compete with the stingyness when it comes to drinks is Secrets the Vine in Cancun.) Let's talk about "entertainment"! Oh wait, there is pretty much none. There are a few activities around the pool for very few hours, and (barring rain, which happens pretty much every day for a while), there is one activity at 9:00, which is really lame stuff. Unless you get a stay at this "resort" for free, and if your air-fair is free, do NOT stay at this place. We have talked to dozens of other people, just in case we were not seeing things correctly, and we have yet to talk to anyone who likes this place (One couple hated it so much that after 3 days into a 2 week stay, they flew back to Canada just to escape)! We have 2 days to go, can't wait to go home, even though there is snow on the ground. Final thought; Avoid this place like the plague!!

    Nice sun, sand, & water!

Nice location! Food and drink was plentiful but left something to be desired when it came to flavor. Staff is great! Facilty is starting to show its age. Not high end by any means but not the bottom of the barrel either! Nice sun, sand, and water! Not a hard place to relax and there are places to go and see off the resort to do sightseeing and shopping!

    Don’t do it!

Bed is hard, hair in the shower. Food has no seasoning. Bartenders have no consistency when making the same drink. Waiting over an hour at one specialty restaurant and never got food, got up and left. Boring, no activities or things to do on the resort.

We made the best of our time.

Beautiful view from our balcony, the grounds were well kept. The food was good. The beach is very small, but the snorkeling was nice. The resort is very old. We had a couple of leaks in the buffet area and a piece of the ceiling fell in the lobby area. The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms were clean. The bathrooms need to be updated. We had a crack in our tub which squished water in and out when you stepped on it in the shower. The hotel definitely needs a makeover. The staff were very friendly but the management needs to improve on the communication amongst the guests, regarding meal times and schedules on their apps.
