- Other Local AttractionsCozumel is rich in history and natural wonders. Popular destinations include ancient Mayan temples on the north side of the Island; the sanctuary to Ix- Chel -the fertility goddess- in San Gervasio and the Museum of the Island of Cozumel, with its colorful displays of underwater reefs and other Island treasures. At El Cedral, on the south side of the Island, the oldest Maya structure on Cozumel built in A.D. 800 can be found. Nearby a towering lighthouse at Punta Sur offers a 360-degree view of the Island.
Cozumel is habitat to many nature reserves: the Cozumel Marine Reef National Park, Chankanaab Park and Lagoon, and Punta Sur. Botanical gardens at Chankanaab Park display 350 different types of tropical plants from more than 20 countries. Another attraction is the dolphin aquarium, treating visitors to a close-encounter with playful dolphins. Punta Sur is a new eco-tourist park for visitors interested in learning about the Island's native flora and fauna. Encircling a region known as Colombia Lagoon, Punta Sur is a unique setting of mangrove jungles, white sandy beaches and reef formations. The Park's information center allows visitors to watch a 20-minute video and learn about different eco-systems, environment and native birds, turtles, alligators, fish and coral in the Park. At the information center, visitors can rent electric bikes to explore Punta Sur on their own.

Spectacular Service!
I love real-time reviews! My wife and I arrived at Cozumel Hotel and Resort on Sunday, January 26th 2025, and we'll be here until Friday. I can confirm that everything you've heard about the staff is 100% accurate. From the moment we arrived, Alexis was there to welcome us. Then the rest of the team took over to ensure our needs were being met. Kiera takes care of us at the beach, Gabriella at the pool. Diego made a point to invite us to his activities, while Mario and Gustavo have kept our drinks full. The housekeeping staff slips in while we're away, therefore I really don't know them (kudos to those taking care of us in room 1148) Manuel in Los Grisoles always makes me feel welcome at breakfast (which I've been enjoying twice each morning lol) The buffet is excellent, no shortage of vegetarian options, authentic local fare, and creative deserts. A la carte dining was Mexican last night. The food was spectacular, and the service on-point (regrettably, I forgot our server's name - but he was excellent) We had one issue with an incorrect charge on our room, but that was quickly and professionally resolved. Looking forward to editing this post when we have additional team members to recognize! Having a blast, and highly recommend this resort!

Not a bad place to stay in Cozumel
Pretty good place for a low budget. The daily entertainment was really good. Always get dinner reservations for the better dining options. Diego was a fantastic host throughout the day. The wait staff was second to none. Hotel, however, was a little rundown and in need of updates

Lies!!
We have been coming to this resort for years and some of their changes are not good! Do not checkout early! Our pick up is 2 hours after checkout. One reception person indicated we could continue to eat and drink with the pink bracelet however we cannot do anything. They do not accommodate folks with a later flight. We have learned our lesson and will find a hotel more open to accommodate the patrons versus trying to nickel and dime them. The facility has a fabulous entertainment crew and some of the waitresses are wonderful and the best. Unfortunately because people at the resort say one thing and do another, I am certain another hotel will graciously take our money and treat us much better. Won’t be back to Hotel Cozumel.

Beware- loud & no internet in rooms
Beware - their website is a scam, misleading about internet access - it is only available in the common areas. The staff then proceeded to lie to me multiple times about why it wasn't in the rooms. The supervisor I spoke with lied and said it was very clear on the site, when I asked her to show me, she could NOT find it. She proceeded to refuse to refund my money, and only 30 min into the conversation did she admit that they could, and did not reveal right away that they would charge an extra two days no matter what. Being lied to made it so much worse. The building was also rundown and the food was mediocre. This is not a place to go if you want to nap - they are playing loud music and corny games all day long. The positive was they had free filtered water on each floor.
