A Factory of Sadness
Just came back from Swept Away and it was like a factory of sadness. I've been to all inclusives before in Mexico and DR, but this has got to be the worst. The beach and the pair of ginger cats living on the beach were the only positive things about this place. All of the employees seemed to be miserable, didn't want to be there, and straight up ignored you. The only nice staff member was Carlton at Patois during lunch time, but he was pretty new (only been working a few weeks) and didn't seem jaded quite yet. Speaking of Patois- we walked up to the host stand to get seated by the host, but he straight up ignored us, didn't even acknowledge us, we waited and waited, finally a guy behind us asked the guy if we could be seated and he acted surprised like he didn't see us there for the 5 minutes we were standing there. Lemongrass was just as disappointing-got our food orders before we even got our glasses of cheap red wine. Would've liked to have dinner at Feathers but they were booked up the 3 nights we were there. Buffet was ok-I liked that they had some Jamaican dishes because I love Jamaican food and made to order omelets at breakfast were delicious. That Vegetarian Cafe (Seagrapes) was a joke-terrible flavorless fish tacos, the "sushi" was shameful. We had an older room that had patio doors that would not close unless you locked them. We kind of felt like we were prisoners at Swept Away-the vibe was so different from The Rockhouse Hotel on the cliffs-which is where we stayed for 3 nights before coming to Swept Away-we were so miserable at Swept Away, that we went back to The Rockhouse Hotel on our last day and booked one of the private villas.

Just unbelievable
I will start by saying this place is unbelievable. We went with another couple, my brother and sister in-law.Our stay was from December 14th to the 21st Upon landing, we were whisked through customs and met with a smile from the Couples staff awaiting our arrival at the airport with a nice cold beer and some snacks before we left for our drive to CSA Upon arrival we were greeted again with a smile and a welcome drink. We checked in, booked our Catamaran Trip and made restaurant Reservations at Feather's and Lemongrass then off to check out this beautiful resort Our room 4315 was an updated spotless room and had a view of the ocean The food throughout the week was amazing. We were all impressed by the resort having duck and rabbit for lunch... mmm so good. Oh and I can't forget Lobster night on Saturday! The pizza was amazing for a lunch or a snack or both like what we did lol Best steak I've had in a long time at Feathers and Patois.Awesome fish tacos and the best banana filled French toast ever omg please try them at breakfast time Our fav restaurant was Feathers but i think everyone says that. Our next fav was Patois by the swim up bar.The food for breakfast or dinner was just amazing. The staff were great also. The staff that stuck out for us were.. Nastassia and Fabian at Patois-both made us feel welcome and made our time there really enjoyable. Hakeem the bartender on the beach was friendly and made some great drinks Shania remembered everyone's names and was very friendly and bubbly Sidney, one of the vendors onsite during our stay sells really well done painted coconuts of any sports teams imaginable and will personalize it. He was a very nice guy Actually all the vendors selling onsite had very nice products for a good price and weren't overly pushy. Ricardo M was always cleaning and doing landscaping and making sure all the grounds looked clean and tidy Overall this place is a 10 for us and we would all come back in a second. See you again soon!!

Second visit exceeds expectations
A return visit did not disappoint with no damage noticed from the summer hurricane. As before the tennis program with both visiting American coaches and the local coaches was excellent. It was good to meet players who had been there the same week last year and the return rate for guests says a lot for this resort. The sports facilities are outstanding. Food and drink were of good quality with ample variety and service uniformly prompt. We found staff to be friendly and helpful with a special praise for the on site resort nurse who is very professional and caring . The included water sports, boat trips and sports coaching make this a good value for money resort with something for everyone.

Idyllic get away at Couples Swept Away
We had a wonderful experience in our first stay here. We’ve been to 20+ all inclusives including Sandals, Barcelo, Hard Rocks and Couples Negril for comparisons. We found Swept Away a completely different experience and vibe. So laid back, relaxed and casual, it is perfect for a do nothing, go no where, sit down and relax get away. No bold, loud, extravagant pool party atmosphere, no high pressure sales tactics, no rush to get beach loungers, pool side chairs or restaurant reservations (outside of feathers and lemon grass) and the wait without a reservation was short, 15 minutes? Just calm, peaceful serenity. The average mixed drinks were ok, 7/10, not great cause the booze itself was mediocre; the generic spirits they use are definitely not as good as top shelf spirits you may be used to and the house wine is $7/bottle quality but hey, life is what you make it. The food overall was pretty good, 8/10. Sure I had one pork chop that was a little gristly on the end but anyone who says the food is no good here is an arrogant, obnoxious and self entitled snob. These chefs are amazing. Best mashed potatoes I’ve had in my life, and the soups are divine. Fresh fish cooked perfectly, chicken and steak, rice noodles and pasta, salads, seriously there was so much delicious food the one thing we didn’t like was irrelevant. Plus, eating outside in open air at a beautiful restaurant with a different revolving menu was incredible. It was so quiet we could hear the ocean from our table as we ate, and our patio at our room at night. And those patios are a heavenly bonus. We had battery operated tea candles to light it (and the room when the power would briefly cut out) but didn’t really need them, there’s just enough indirect light to see around at night. There are outlets on the patio to run lights on the guard rails there too. And the hotel grounds are gorgeous and lit up beautifully at night, walking the resort at night is safe, comfortable and serene. Checking in at the airport, transportation to and from the hotel was a breeze, 2 hours or so, and the staff are wonderful. All in all money well spent. So if you’re looking for an exciting, adrenaline boosting, party till you drop experience go somewhere else. If you wanna unwind and relax and walk a truly fantastic beach and talk to your partner, then read a book, swim or float or kayak or sail, maybe play tennis or pickle ball or snorkel or scuba or do nothing at all and nobody cares what you are doing because you’re doing what you want to do and nothing else, this is your place.

Inspiration found at couples swept away
“A vacation is a chance to recharge your soul, so you can return to life with fresh inspiration." My husband and I come to couples swept away to reconnect, unwind and untangle before going into the new year. Couples swept away is our favorite place. My husband loves the beautiful tennis courts, and the pros that help him improve his game. We love that our friends also come here, and all the new friends that we’ve met here from far away places. For me, just ability to relax and disconnect has been enough, until this visit. This visit, I took advantage of the personal trainer in the gym. It is included in our stay. I spent five mornings with Trevaun, working and learning all about the gym and equipment, and learning more about myself. My spirit was lifted and I found strength I forgot that I had, and somewhere there I was inspired to run a 5k in the reggae marathon that is held every year Negril. The last time I ran a 5K was over 10 years ago, and I walked some of it, and although I am fit, I haven’t run more than a mile and a half since then. The morning of the race, we all gathered before the sun came up, the energy was amazing. So many beautiful people coming together, a reggae band playing at 5 AM, then once the race was started, the sound of sneakers on the pavement was all you could hear, with the exception of the occasional cheer from the sides. Not only did I run the whole 5K, I finished second in my age group. I can not thank Trevaun enough for his instruction and inspiration. Couples swept away should be proud to employ such a mature and charismatic young man, And I hope Trevaun understands how he inspired me to believe in myself and my abilities. I also have to mention our housekeeper Fiona, I am grateful for her blessings every morning. She is a beautiful soul and I cannot wait to see her again next year.
