On y reviendrais surement!

Best Massage in Punta Cana
Joani and Venessa were amazing! Highly recommended for your massage! My friend and I felt completely refreshed after the massage 360. It’s an absolute must when you visit the Dominican Republic. The spa itself was a paradise. Please visit!

I’ve Stayed in 15 All Inclusives…and This Was By Far the Worst Experience of My Extensive Travels!
I’ve traveled to 43 countries and have stayed in 15 all inclusive resorts throughout the Carribean, Mexico, French Polynesia and Australia and Catalonia Royal Bavaro was the BY FAR the worst experience of all of them! And we had the so called Privileged package! The list of transgressions is long so I will organize them by tiers. Tier 1 • Clear smell of mold in our first room • On the first night of our stay, I got VERY sick from a room service cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato that I strongly suspect were washed in tap water. It effectively ruined our entire trip as I couldn’t eat or drink much of anything and spent most of our of week long stay in the bathroom (including 14 trips the first night). We talked to several other guests who had similar experiences. • We lost $360 in tour fees as we were unable to participate in the tours we signed up for through the Tour Desk at the resort because of my inability to be away from the bathroom for any meaningful amount of time. • When we brought the issue to the attention of “David” at Guest Services, he literally responded “What proof do you have that we made you sick?” No expression of concern, no apology and no effort to learn more to prevent other guests from becoming equally miserable. • After he rejected my request to have our tour fees refunded and other imminently reasonable suggestions I made for appropriate accommodations, he blatantly lied to me. He asked me to sign a document that he said “just stated that we don’t have to pay for a “Romantic Dinner”” that he finally offered as a token…and woefully inadequate…accommodation. In fact, it was a legal form releasing the resort from all current and future claims while offering us absolutely no accommodations in return. When I told him such, he vehemently insisted I was wrong (like I’m some idiot who can’t read) and doubled down on his lie. • Unbelievably, there were literally no managers in sight during our entire trip…in spite of repeated attempts to talk to one. If they were there, they were cowardly hiding in back offices or wearing the same uniforms of the staff so they could blend in and not be singled out. Tier 2 • Both of the “Privileged” rooms we stayed in (after changing rooms to avoid the mold smell) had major maintenance issues. Items that flat out didn’t work include: two TVs, two safes, one phone, a drain and a door nob that literally fell off in my hand the first time I opened the door. In addition, another phone was falling off the wall and holes in the wall existed where a light sconce and another phone were supposed to be. • The food was incredibly inconsistent with a rare good meal (e.g. the filet at Rodeo accompanied by excellent service) mixed in with a ton of food that was remarkably flavorless lacking herbs, spices and even salt. Even most of the fruit (which is usually amazing in the Carribean) lacked flavor. Some of the dishes tasted like cheap frozen processed meals. And on several occasions, the food we were served was missing half of what was supposed to be included (e.g. Prawns & Salmon Supreme with zero prawns, a Walnut and Pear Panini with absolutely no walnut or pear, a Shrimp and Spinach Panini with no spinach, etc.). We had multiple meals where we had 2-3 bites and left. • Likewise, the service was equally inconsistent with a much appreciated rare warm greeting and smile (thank you, Felix!) drowning in a sea of obviously very unhappy employees (who are likely being mistreated by management) who treated customers very coldly with no greetings, exchange of pleasantries or smiles or inquiries regarding the quality of the food. On numerous occasions we were approached by wait staff stone faced and bluntly asked “What do you want?” A fellow guest told me wife they have visited the Catalonia Royal Bavaro annually for over a decade and always had wonderful stays. But they apparently had a change in management a couple of weeks ago and everything has gone to Hell. Employees are clearly angry and their service reflects it. Shortly after protesting that “I am only an employee and can only do what they let me do!” one employee nodded with his eyes lighting up when I responded that “They don’t have an employee problem. They clearly have a culture and management problem.” Our $4000 trip was totally ruined by the inexcusably poor room maintenance, poor (and in at least one case unsanitary) food and service quality…and most of all…their (lack of) response to legitimate issues being raised. I can’t recommend strongly enough to AVOID THE CATALONIA ROYAL BAVARO AT ALL COSTS!!!

Fantastic staff
Our room was a Deluxe Junior Suite. It had a King bed. Large tub in room. Separate seating area. Balcony area with comfortable seating. Large shower had plenty of hot water. There are no ocean view rooms. Two very nice pools with lounge chairs and cushioned beds. The resort is walkable and the sister hotel next door is a wonderful place to walk in evenings. Meals were presented well. They were 7/10 in my opinion. We particularly enjoyed the Asian Tao Cat. Every employee was helpful. Management speaks English. Staff do not. But they are so accommodating we always had a good laugh with them. Service in restaraunts was exceptional. No request was too much. The actual beach was lovely but there was not enough shade in the Priviledge area. It was the worst resort for towel reserving I have ever been to. People would reserve with towels and not take their chairs until 1 or 2 pm. Having saved them by 8:30. As a result there was one day there were no available chairs anywhere on the beach. There did not seem to be any other workers on beach other than servers. The other issue was the continuous beach sellers. And I do mean continuous. They do not quietly move along the shore. They yell out Beep Beep or ring a metal bell. Even when I was obviously resting or reading they would interrupt until you answered. They had parrots squawking etc. they walked up among guest chairs. Even in the privileged area. The water is very shallow. Hip height. There is 90% vegetation. Not likely much resort can do about this. If you like a nice pool. Fantastic service and immaculate grounds and rooms this is your place. If you like to swim in ocean the beach area is not the place for you. The staff are all the best I have ever seen.
