We were not even guests at the Playa Maroma and we were treated like royalty. My wife was sick during a transfer to the airport and our Bellman Reuben took excellent care of us. She was sick and throwing up and the staff there, especially Ruben, made every effort to accommodate us. They called us a taxi, they got my wife anti-nausea medicine. I am excited to return to this resort given the service we received despite the fact that we had not paid a single cent to them. I hear the beach is wonderful, but I can’t speak to any of the other facilities. If the rest of the staff are half as competent as Rueben then your experience will be amazing.

Fantastic!
My wife and I are nearing the end of our two week stay at this wonderful hotel. I will always be critical in my reviews as necessary, but there is nothing about this hotel to fault. We booked a privilege room, which is well worth it, as we were closer to the pool and beach, as well as a few perks with dining. The food selection in the restaurant is excellent, but we also used all of the restaurants available and particularly liked the Japanese ( try and get a table at the cooking show!) The pool area and beach is beautiful, with plenty of sun beds to go around. There are quite a few comments about the Coatis being a nuisance, but the situation can be managed by standing up whilst eating by the pool, or going into the swim up pool to eat at the bar. The hotel does bring dogs out from time to time and this scares them away, so maybe worth doing on a daily basis around lunchtime to make the eating experience less stressful! The entertainment team are fantastic. We have been taking holidays for well over 40 years, and these guys are by far the hardest working and most engaging that we have ever encountered. We didn’t get very involved in the activities, but they always had time to say hello and stop for a quick chat. I highly recommend the spa. We both had a massage today, and used the spa area and it was up there with the best. The evening entertainment is very good, although a two week programme would be better for those of us staying for two weeks, rather than see the same show twice. Finally, a huge credit must go to all staff, who are warm, friendly and efficient, and an absolute credit to the hotel. I would not hesitate in recommending this hotel, and we will be sad to leave in a couple of days time - but may well return one day. One comment for UK travellers with Tui. They don’t have any representatives at the hotel and their app is next to useless, so be prepared to work it all out for yourselves ( with the help of the wonderful hotel staff!) Thanks to everyone ( too many to mention) for giving us such a memorable holiday.

Great place to go
Guest services was excellent so kind Consello,Veronica 😊 All the resturants were very good Janeth,Enrique Benardabe, wonderful staff .The view was amazing from resturant Bloved.Bartenders were always smiling 😃. The pool was awesome

Nov 06, 2024Going back to Catalonia Maroma ….
Went back to this resort for the third time. We stayed there before Covid and always raved about it. We recommended it to all our friends. This time though, there were 2 issues that made our 2 week stay not so pleasant as before. First the coatis … they are everywhere and in large groups. It is impossible to eat anything outside, especially in the area of the cafe, pool and beach. They are aggressive and annoying. Secondly, the food selection …. not as varied as we remembered. The pastries are OK but the grill offers the same options every day. On a positive note we enjoyed the shady beach and the beautifully landscaped walkways.

Insects in food and in the room . Beware if you bring your family. Pretty bad hygiene and buffet is extremely small in terms of options for the price we paid $4600 for this experience - not worth it. Drinks are watered down too. Please spend your money somewhere else.
