Barbie and Paco gave us a big welcome to the hotel. Very funny duo and are a good representation of the hotel and! The hotel has very different options to eat and the food is very good! Very good for families as well as couples! Very good option to stay in our honeymooners. I recommend!

Lovely location- beach is just beautiful. Plenty of sunbeds on beach. Lots of activities at hotel, like a walk at 10am, aqua gym/aqua dance at 11.30 and then Again at 4.30pm beach volleyball and water volleyball, tennis, and some other things such as bingo, darts, learn Spanish happen. To know when it’s going on use the app/info online they tell you look at. The only other time is if you sit by the pool. If on beach they don’t make you aware what’s going on. Very clean place; food was great and varied for all tastes and wants. Animals are freely roaming which is wonderful. Shops on site run by hotel. Kids club there too. Spa and small 24hr gym. Entertainment was very good in the theatre and beach party. Nightclub empty and samey ‘dance’ music (I love music including drum and base - this music was not oh I must get up and dance to this, as I had hoped- so if on own like me it wasn’t much fun.) good for a late night drink though. Staff are great here, friendly, ready for a laugh and fantastic. Lifeguard on beach. Cancun adventures desk on site- whom I highly recommend. Took 3 of their trips (Chichen Itza; Ek Bulum; Coba) had an offer of buy 2 trips get one free. Well run trips with great guides. Soft drinks and snacks are provided on minibus. Groups are usually 10-14. I highly recommend Ek Bulum - you can climb these Mayan ruins and it’s on a lovely site I think. The location of hotel is middle of nowhere- only other hotels. So no shops or other nearby. Can get local buses but have a fair bit to walk to the main way. If you hire a car know that there are toll roads which ever direction you go that cannot be avoided. Not hotel issue but a general one. Mexico loves a tax!

A wonderful hotel with exceptional food and exceptional service 👏👏👏❤️🇲🇽Perhaps the most beautiful beach in Quintana Roo, I would go back there anytime and it is the best value for money I have come across for a family with two children.

Hotel Catalonia, Playa Maroma
A brilliant place to stay with a fantastic choice of foods throughout the day. The restaurants are very nice with super friendly staff. The staff around the hotel work very hard to keep the place spotless. There’s plenty of activities throughout the day, live music in the lobby every evening followed by some kind of show (singing/dancing) in the theatre. I’ve never been to Mexico before or any kind of All Inclusive for that matter. My main fear was drunken people everywhere throughout the day but this was not the case. Anyone who is so drunk that they can barely stand will be escorted back to their room. We were fortunate enough to see the monkeys that frequently swing around the trees around the hotel and we’ve swam with a giant sea turtle. 2 fantastic experiences to take back home with us. All in all, Hotel Catalonia is a great place for families and couples too.

Excellent Beach Vacation
Fantastic hotel and atmosphere. One of the best beaches we’ve enjoyed, no rocks, but soft sand. Incredibly friendly staff. Walkway from main buildings down to pool/beach is surrounded by jungle and wildlife. Great amount of shops for retail therapy.
