The staff were so friendly especially Javier he was great and friendly and He made sure we had a great time during our stay . They also make the best virgin pink panthers at the upstairs bar . We definitely had everything we needed to make our stay memorable.

Great time at Canto del sol
Had a very good time April 6-20. Staff were all great!!!! All very friendly, welcoming, and happy to help!! Food was good! Of course there's lots of Mexican choices but enough non-mexican dishes as well! The ala cartes were all really good!!!! The surf & turf was great out by the pool and the beach! There is a lot of walking, depending where you stay. We were in room 711J. 350 steps to the elevator. So, yes, as in other reviews, just know there IS A LOT of walking for "older" people. But we survived!!! IF you get a hidabed, DON'T!!!! They definitely need new ones!!!!!!! That's the only negative thing I can say. It was our first time on the PV side, usually stay in Nuevo. It was really great be ause there's all kinds of little shops right out side the hotel in a sort of mall. Apparently they always keep the red flag up on the beach, but it was kind of rough anyway, not like Nuevo but they have 3 pools!!!!! 2 breakfast restaurants, 1 for lunch, with lots of food, snack bar, and specials along with buffet for dinner set up at entrance to restaurant. Apparently walkable to the malecon, about 20-30 mins. We take cabs!!! Would consider going back for sure!!! Thanks Canto!!!!!! Much need great holiday!!!!!!🥰

Apr 18, 2025Please see above opinion. Dinner was great. Only the Tom yum soup was too spicy and could use a mild or hot option
Everything was great! Our one bit of advice is to warn visitors on how spicy the Tom yum soup is or give option to make mild spice. The red peppers were too spicy 🌶️ The sushi was good as was the pad Thai and the rice with prawns dishes. The desserts were good. Thank you for a Lovely dinner.

Great food & amazing service!
Food was delicious. I had the sope, tacos & chocolate churro. My family got something different but they also really enjoyed their foods. Drinks were delicious. And the waiters were really friendly. Armando, was very attentive and made sure we were well taken care of.

Great bang for your buck!
After a room mix up, we got a room upgrade. Studio Villas DO NOT have 2 beds in them. Even though booking through Red Tag that was an option, I requested two beds. Then was told none of the studio villas have two beds and I had to pay for an upgrade for two beds. Worked out we got closer to the common pool area and buffet anyway. Beds are a little hard, but still comfortable. Air conditioning in rooms works fabulous, almost too cold. Could have been better explained or given a map of the resort as it has so much more to offer than we originally knew about until other guests told us. Rooftop saltwater pool was amazing! Security on site, so felt safe. Beach is small & crowded and vendors meet you as you go down steps to the beach. Water was rough and waves were larger so not great for swimming/snorkelling. Great a la cartes (Italian one with server Ismael was amazing). Great service at the bars and buffets. Super clean resort, I don’t know if I saw one piece of garbage anywhere. They’re always cleaning! Friendly staff, always greeting you. Safe was there but was locked so we didn’t use it, but also didn’t feel the need to. Fridge was empty upon arrival but was stocked the first day with beer, soft drinks, water, chips and chocolate bars. Tennis courts are huge. There was karaoke, night shows, ping pong and corn hole all day every day, aqua fitness, kids games, water volleyball, etc. always something happening! Wifi is good throughout resort for the most part.
