Had a wonderful vacation. Food is great, entertainment was fabulous. Liza and Arieli are the best. Front desk very quick to help with any issues you may come across. Ie. room key not working or fixing problems in the room. Pool is clean. Would definitely recommend and come back ,

Recently my best friend and I went to blue bay villa dorados for a 10 day vacation. I raved to her about how great the resort was, having frequented it many times in the past (probably a dozen times over the past 15 years) the last time being in 2016. Eight years has passed and I tell you nothing has improved in those 8 years. I was so embarrassed in front of my friend having raved about the resort only to find out that this 4 star was now a 2 star, if that. From day one on arrival they didn’t even acknowledge our special requests for a ground floor room due to recent surgery and claimed it was full and couldn’t change our room to a ground floor as requested. But then miraculously, a ground floor room became available. We moved into a less than quality room, lacking in essentials such as a hair dryer and an operating telephone and a room that was in desperate need of maintenance (painting, new bathroom/shower, plumbing - shower didn’t drain and flooded the floor and toilet that repeatedly blocked) as the entire complex was in need of as well For the entire 10 day stay, we had no telephone despite visiting the front desk repeatedly, only to be told it would be taken care of. Well it was not We had issues with domestic disputes and loud unruly neighbouring guests that we needed to call security to address, but couldn’t The food was good so no complaints there. The fact that several of the couples we met during our stay became ill and when reporting it to management, were threatened and told that they were not to speak to any other guests or they would be evicted From the resort, was extremely concerning On two back to back evenings, we wanted to go to the local Casino and the front desk, who were clearly inexperienced in customer service, provided us with $20 each in coupons (nice gimmick) and told us we would be provided with a ride to and from the resort without charge, however each night nobody showed up and we waited in the lobby for over 1/2 hour each night. Not impressed I am so disappointed with this experience, having had such praise for past experiences, that not only will I never return, but I will certainly not recommend this resort to anyone I know. In eight years nothing has improved….things have only deteriorated. Extremely disappointed This is not a resort that You want to spend money Visiting.

The Good: The food was delicious, variety every day at the buffet had theme nights all week. The Bad: We had requested a ground floor room due to surgeries when we arrived, they informed us there were none. When we finally had our ground floor room, there were several issues. No blow dryer, no makeup mirror, a fridge that served as a storage unit, due to no refrigeration, and the phone served as decoration, with no cable connection to a wall jack at all. We had several evenings of load disturbance in our block and no way of calling the front desk to complain. When we approached the front desk operating phone, they simply shrugged and said no phone lines on the island. Be prepared to be hounded daily at the beach by aggressive vendors. The worst part: During our 10-day trip, on day 5, of the 12 friends we made (6 couples), we were told that two of the guests became severely ill. On day 6, 3 more of the 12 people came down with the same illness. By day 7, 3 more of the group came down with the illness. My friend and I were lucky, we did not catch this illness. On day 7, 2 of the same 12 guests confronted management, and were told that perhaps those guests affected drank tap water which is forbidden. The guests tried to explain to management that there were more and more guests in the resort, getting sick, and management claimed there were no other complaints. As a result, the two guests mentioned earlier wanted to leave the resort for their own health and had requested a partial refund, they were told they would not get a refund and that if they spoke to any other guests about this issue, they would be evicted from the resort, and could be fined a penalty fee for spreading gossip, and putting all the other guests in harm's way. If this is how management deals with guest concerns, this is not a resort you wish to visit. If you've read my entire review, please think twice about vacationing here, my friend had been a frequent guest about 8 years ago and raved about the resort, and she admitted, it has gone completely down since then. Not a 4 star, rather a 2.5.

Vacation in family
The food is good but there is no variety and also some things were extra, thank you all for the good treatment, the entertainment is good with its games, we participated in the Frisbby game and we had a lot of fun, I didn't have any problems with anything, I liked it the treatment of the staff, especially lisselotte, a good girl

We went are these tours the city tour, monkeyland and parasailing too.
We had a great time. All staff were very pleasant, helpful. The entertainment team was overall accomamdanting and a joy to talk too. We especially had a wonderful bike tour with arielis. Enjoyed the food. If there was any problems staff addressed it in a very timely fashion. Our room was always cleaned and we looked forward to seeing what the house keeper did to are room with flowers and towels.
