Seriously good, will come back
It's like stepping into a postcard. Located below the main walkway in Fira, we missed the entrance at first - Fira is hard to navigate on GPS. Inside, the hotel is a maze ... we still sometimes took the wrong way after 3 days. But facilities, view, quality, peace, cleaning and staff are all top notch. If something is off, it's fixed immediately. Our wifi was down at one point, and the fix-it-guy arrived back at the room before I did. Reception is also super friendly and have many connections in town for discounts / better tables / etc. and many travel tips as well. It has a kitchen for good and varied breakfast and simple meals, and a well stocked bar ... Christos the Bartender (one of many staff highlights) make solid drinks and good honest conversation. Cell phone coverage is low at the hotel due to the location below the main street and inside the caldera itself - but wifi is fine. And the location means you rarely hear the town, even though it's a few stairs away (Fira has many stairs, you'll come home with good legs). Cruise ships are heard with their shipwide speaker announcements, but not on an annoying level. And if it's windy, some of the balconys have noisy sunshades. But the style, the cleanling standard, the location, the staff and the view means we're definately coming back.

Belvedere pros and cons
We booked two rooms for two nights. I booked the economy room with no view (which I expected). I did not expect it to have no window at all for fresh air (other than a "window" over the bed that opened into an interior hall with a ceiling light shining in.) Nor did I expect it to have no wall mirror for dressing. The booking process was confusing. I was initially quoted 190 euros per night thru an email and because I didn't book thru the email, but instead on their website, I was charged 240 euros per night. So pay attention! We were offered an upgrade to a suite however the suite was on two floors and the steps coming down from the upstairs bedroom were too steep for a middle of the night trip to the bathroom. (plus there was a stain on the bedspread and makeup stains on the sofa) The pool area and views were great and the breakfast was good. The staff was lovely.

Amazing
Wow what a stunning location. I highly recommend the Belvedere suites. Special thanks to Chris and Chris… so helpful and informative about the island. The food was delicious, had breakfast and lunch every day overlooking the fabulous view of the Caldera. Room was nice with outstanding views from the balcony. Room cleaned each day. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. We took a trip to Oia to see sunset, beautiful place, pretty busy 30 euros each way in a taxi. If you get the opportunity definitely go. We ate evening meal at vanilla only two minutes from hotel. Food and service was very good. Thank you so much for making our stay so wonderful. We hope to return again.

Brilliant Views
Well worth staying at this hotel for the magnificent caldera views. Do upgrade to a sea view room though as we did. The hotel is built into the side of a cliff and we noticed many of the 'standard' and therefore cheaper rooms had not only no sea view but also very little natural light, facing onto internal hotel corridors. Staff were excellent but do get them to help you with your luggage - the road drop off point is a good five minute walk across uneven ground to get to the pedestrian area where the hotel is located. Breakfasts were very good and nice pool area but note the swimming pool is unheated.

Amazing hotel, fabulous views, perfect Greek island :)
We spent an amazing week in Santorini staying at the Belvedere Suites just outside Fira. The hotel is well situated to walk to the town centre in 15 minutes or so, and in a nice, quieter location with lots of restaurants and a few shops close by. Be prepared for lots of hilly steps when walking around the area. We opted for a superior double room when booking so that we would have views of the caldera and we weren't disappointed! Our room (108) was very well appointed with everything you'd need, nicely decorated and the aircon was wonderful. If there was one little gripe it would be that six coathangers is not really enough. All the staff were fabulous - Faidra in reservations prior to our arrival, the two Chris's and Marina in reception, Dritan (Dani) at breakfast/pool bar and Christos the barman who makes an amazing Aegean Spritz (thank you for giving me the precise recipe!). Also all the other staff who were polite and friendly throughout our stay, including the bellboy who ferried our cases to and from the drop off/pick up point in the Church of Agios Gerasimos Square. The a la carte breakfast is excellent so long as you are explicit and clear with what you want on the paper-based ordering system. We found that we could eat enough at breakfast to skip lunch some days if we wanted to. The sunbeds and pool and bar area were always clean and well maintained and a perfect spot for relaxing and soaking up the wonderful views. We had booked a couple of excursions in advance via Trip Advisor - wine tasting with Oia sunset and a catamaran cruise - which we really enjoyed. Chris in reception recommended and arranged Luigi's Tours for a half day private excursion (cost of 70 euros per hour) to see the other parts of the island we were keen to see: Pyrgos; Megalochori; Profitis Ilias Monastery; museum of prehistoric city Akrotiri. Luigi (nickname because his real name is difficult to pronounce) is a friendly young man and a very knowledgable tour guide. We would definitely recommend him to others. Chris also gave us some pointers to good local restaurants, 'No Name' being our favourite of these. Overall, this was a fabulous holiday and if we ever come back to Santorini we will definitely stay at Belvedere Suites again.
