4-5 time visiting the resort great experience every time, had a birthday and anniversary and they went above and beyond to bring a small gift

Apr 01, 2025Our Stay at Barcelo Maya Tropical
Everything during our stay at Barcelo Maya Tropical was excellent. However, we happened to book during during the American March Break which meant that the pool area was very busy and noisy. As a result, the resort was fully booked which made it very difficult for us to find available chairs at the beach. Even at 5:30 in the morning, most chairs were almost already "reserved". Otherwise, no complaints. Wee had a great time.

Hôtel très bien, à la hauteur des attentes pour un Barcelo
Superbe hôtel, propre, beaucoup d'activités, bien entretenu. Accès aux autres Barcelo et au Maya Mall & Mini golf +++ Plage un peu rocailleuse à l'entrée, il faut viser un peu :P mais super belle et riche en poissons dû aux quelques coraux qu'ils ont laissés. Nourriture le matin et le soir excellente, nous nous sommes gavés, personne n'a été malade et nous sommes généralement sensibles à la tourista. Buffet du midi plus ordinaire. Comme plusieurs l'ont dit, difficile de réserver les restaurants à la carte, ne vous faites pas trop d'attente si vous êtes en période forte. Chambre bien sans être exceptionnelle. L'équipe de ménage est très efficace. Chambre entretenue à tous les jours sans le demander. Bouteilles d'eau gratuites et en quantité suffisante apporté à la chambre et quand on les demande au bar. Par contre chambre et literie très humide. Mais ce n'est peut-être pas le cas pour toutes les chambres. Plage et piscine super belles, mais il a fallu se lever tous les jours vers 6h30 pour réserver des chaises (fin mars). Les + -Beauté de l'hôtel -Propreté -Nourriture -Plage -Piscine -Activités -Jeux d'eaux pour enfants -Accès aux autres Barcelo Les - -Buffet du midi -Manque de place aux restaurants à la carte -Chambre très humide -Manque de chaise Bref, pour nous, quelques petits irritants ça et là, mais en général beaucoup de point forts qui supplantent de loin les points faibles. Je recommande cet hôtel et je ne regrette pas d'y être allé !

Went here with the kids for a class spring break and was highly disappointed. It all started right when we arrived. Front desk workers were rude and not helpful what so ever. Getting to our room, it smelled musty. Buffet did not have any good food besides the bread and bacon. We were told we needed to make reservations for every night there if we wanted something other than buffet but there were hardly any reservations left. We could only book a reservation with who was in our room making it difficult to have dinner with our teens in other rooms for spring break. The steak house was probably the best food there. Room service was horrible. We would call from our room phone and end up at the hotel next door and then had to be transferred and then put on hold and then eventually hung up on almost every time. Son ordered pancakes to the room and they did not send syrup. The pool bar was alright but very understaffed. Took a LONG time to get anything. Most of the bartenders were rude. We had a few nice ones. No lounge chairs unless you wake up at 5AM to put a towel on one to save. The entertainment and music at the pools was horrible. None of the workers were helpful or knew any answers to questions we had. We were told to get in touch with Amstar for our ride back to the airport and not one day we went to talk with them, were they there. We were never sat at our reservation time. It was always 30 minutes behind and the bartenders in the waiting area were never there to serve drinks. A couple of people we were with had their wristbands fall off on excursion's and were told it was $500 to replace. Said it was usually $150 but since it was "Spring Break" it was more.

Pour l'emplacement et la grandeur du resort
Nous sommes des habitués du Barcelo pour y être allés une quinzaine de fois depuis 2007. Beaucoup de nouveaux espaces ont été créés depuis, donc le centre d'activités, bar intérieur, bowling, etc... sous un abri qui semble être anti ouragan, tellement solide. Seul bémol, à éviter lors des congés du printemps (Spring break américains). nous n'y retournerons plus fin mars car trop de fêtards qui veillent tard et s'énervent toute la nuit. La nourriture est vraiment excellente au buffet du Maya encore plus. Nous avons apprécié les deux restaurants à la carte donc le Mexicain et le Steak House Santa Fe. Il est inscrit de porter le pantalon pour les hommes mais maintenant ce n'est plus le cas une fois rendu au restaurant. Il y a des fontaines et plan d'eau tout partout c'est que nous apprécions énormément.
