Sad
Huge mistreatment of animals. They continuously have dolphins dying in their tiny pool there. I would have never supported a business knowing that they are not rehabbing but killing wildlife for a buck. Please do your research. Grounds were nice but there are plenty of nice, adult only resorts that do not harm wildlife. I was sadden and wanted to leave immediately. Im even more mad that I didnt speak out sooner considering I just saw a video of a dolphin dying from there because they made him jump and he crashed into concrete.

Best Adults Only in the Yucatan
This newest addition to the Barcelo Maya complex is immaculate-- the beach and pools are wonderful, the buffet and restaurants are always delicious, and the amenities in the rooms are phenomenal. I cannot recommend staying with them enough. Two pieces of advice: always pay for the private transfer, it is the safest and fastest option by far and will save you from waiting around the airport upon arrival/stressed getting back before your flight. Also, the pools will be a little chilly in the North's winter so bring some warmer clothes to enjoy some poolside reading between dips.

Fabulous resort in every way
For families with children you cannot go wrong with any of the Tropicale, Colonial, Caribe, or Maya Beach in the Barcelo group of resorts (all on the same property), with access to any of the other resorts in this group. But if you are looking for a resort that is a cut above, I highly recommend the Barcelo Maya Palace. Expensive but very very nice. If you are looking for adults only, stay at the luxurious Barcelo Maya Riviera, but be prepared to pay the difference. All guests at the Palace and the Riviera have access to all 6 of the resorts contained within this property and all that they have to offer.

Not worthy, don’t do it.
The resort is beautiful but horrible service, limited options and lack of quality on what they do and offer. Very disappointing and will not comeback here or recommend to anyone. Premium level is a waste of money, unless you love ordering bland room service food. Rude staff, very small and uncomfortable beds. Be aware that as a man you are obligated to use long pants for dinner or they will not let you in to any of their restaurants. Food is very average. Will not comeback, I do not recommend.

Girls' Getaway!
The Barcelo May Riviera was a beautiful resort. Very large and clean. The food was excellent. We did find the pool (even the music pool) to be a little on the boring side if you are looking to socialize. The night club was at another resort as well. Being that we were at the adults only resort, we were not overly interested in going to the other resorts on the property. The beach was gorgeous. So clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurants, especially the Japanese and Mexican ones.
