Another great family trip to Barcelo Maya Palace
Took our large family of 24 to this resort, now for the third time. Something for everyone....adults, grandkids.

After a week with the familly
The place is amazing, the beach is perfect, you can snorkel and see turtles of kind of fishes, sepias, barracudas and clear water. The pool for the kids is impressive The rooms great The foot is great The service perfect, the staff was always very proud of their job doing it perfectly, especially Darwin and Lorena and lunch time. Tow bad things First the sun loungers couldn’t be booked in advance, however at 7 am all were booked with a towel. However, they were empty almost 50% of them all day. So, if you wake up after 7am you cannot not use a sun lounger. It is clear a mismanagement, if the rule was enforced all the guests could use them. Clear for the management to fix Second, I was there with the family, I booked 4 rooms for a week, I have been in this hotel 5 times, and I have use Barcelo if i had an option. I asked for 2hour late check out for just one room; it was denied. For a premium client was socking, I never thought I was no going to get the 2h for just one room I am thinking on not coming back to Maya Palace and any Barcelo Hotel

Nice place
Food was okay and room was clean and cool. Staff was friendly, the front desk ladies are not friendly, and the room view of the ocean was overlooking the pool.

Very nice resort!
We had a very nice week at the Bavaro Palace Resort. We had an ocean front room located in building 2. The location was perfect for us since we liked the quietness away from all the crowd and noise around the pool area. Our room was spacious and clean but I would say could use an update. Bed was very comfortable. We were very impressed with all the workers. They all worked very hard with great attitudes. Most of the servers had a good grasp of English but some struggled a bit which lead to some misunderstanding of our food orders. The entire resort is clean and well maintained. The resort is huge. They have trains that travel throughout the resort which makes it easier to get around but beware that it is a little confusing on the direction they are traveling. They do provide a map but if you do not have a grasp of the lay of the land it can be quite confusing. I decided on the second day to jump on one and stay on it as it traveled around to all of the stops. This really helped me orient myself and made it easier for me to decide to jump on the train or just walk to my destination the rest of the week. The first night we had dinner in the Italian Restaurant. I selected a vegetable lasagna and I must say it was not good. Fortunately this was the only meal I did not enjoy as everywhere we went there were endless choices of good quality food. We experienced all the eating restaurants with the exception of the Japanese. Our favorite places were breakfast at the Coral, La Brisa for lunch, Hoyo 19 for dinner. Best atmosphere for a romantic quiet dinner was the La Fuente French restaurant. We also enjoyed having a quiet drink before dinner in the lobby bar. Can not comment about anything in the pool area as we went to relax, read, and enjoy the ocean which we were able since we were down near the beach from all the noise but it certainly looked like the families and young adults were having great fun. Not much to complain about as we are easy to please but was disappointed with the mini golf as the surface was concrete which made the ball roll crazy at times and we had to play $5 to play because it was at 8:00pm at night but it was free during the day which seemed unfair. Also wished the resort would invest in a golf ball washing machine at the driving range. Poor guy was trying to wash them by hand with a bucket of water. Looking forward to return next year!
