May 01, 2025Another Year of Great Service
This was our 13 or 14th trip to Barcelo Maya and again, it was lovely. Guadalupe (Lupita), the Customer Service Rep at the Colonial was amazing. We were there for 16 days and had minor issues such as the batteries in the safe died, we needed a shower chair and she stepped up every time. She is professional and friendly and really made our trip so much easier. My husband is a paraplegic and with that comes some special needs and she was always there to help. I cannot say enough about her service and who she is as a person. Jordi at the Puebla Bar was a dream bartender for the second year in a row. He remembered us and greeted us warmly on our first night. His smile and professionalism is above par and we were so happy to see him again this year. The pool staff is amazing but Antonia Mex really stood out. Like Jordi, her smile made the difference. She made us feel like family and always took a moment to ask about our day and to ask if there was anything she could do for us. The unsung heroes are the maintenance and cleaning staff. They are always working on the grounds and buildings. I so appreciate the cleanliness and upkeep. This was our first time visiting in late April and we had a total of five rooms as our six kids, three in laws and three grands joined for part of our trip. Everyone enjoyed the trip and had plenty to do. The 11-year old twins loved the pool, beach, go karts and mini golf. The 14-month old soaked in everything and loved all the fountains - her newest word. The benefit of April versus our normal March visit was far fewer guests. The first week (before Easter) was busy and per usual for all resorts, chairs were an issue. As an early riser, not tough for me but could be for others. I understand the resort is getting in new chairs which may help.

Exellent Time overall
We had a great time at the resort! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The kids especially loved the Kids Club — huge thanks to all the wonderful girls who worked there and made it so fun for them. It was a fantastic family vacation, and we’d definitely come back! Very special place
Definitely recommend as a beautiful place for a great holiday of a lifetime do take into consideration you need to be prepared tipping the staff if they bring you drinks or anything else they do

Besides the 10% discount, we need more advantages of being premium. I've been there over 10 times (before I signed up to the list) and this last time was bad. Unsure what we will do for our next day vacation

Apr 22, 2025A great hotel to enjoy with your family
The hotel is huge and has plenty to see or do, restaurants, bars, tennis or basketball courts, casino, swimming pools and a beautiful beach. In general this one, very well except if you are northern, the food will seem simple and tasteless in some dishes. The staff is very good but I had some details when being served in bars, as you can see a clear preference for Americans and sometimes even ignore you if you do not have a ticket in hand
