Food not good; room, view and beach excellent.
Room, view and beach were great. AC, ceiling fan good and safe great. Stayed in a Premium Level Superior Oceanview on 2nd floor. Bed and linens comfy and room was quiet. Bad stuff: food at the buffets, no hot water 3 mornings, room makeup late 3 days and items not always replaced. Room ameneties did NOT include body lotion. TV picillated off and on and no premium channels. Very poor channel selection. Most staff (not all) did not understand or speak English.

Phenomenal vacation
This was an amazing vacation... We absolutely loved everything about it.. The beach ..the pool ..the weather..the food... But the best part was the service and entertainment... From the bartenders to the waitresses to the entertainment group we absolutely loved Mayi, Luis, Ezekiel, Angel and Marlenis are an extraordinary group they are kind and inviting.. Soo impressed with such a young group to be soo hard working... Loved them and we miss them terribly... They made our stay even more spectacular!

Barcelo Bavero Adult
It was OK 2nd time there the food at buffet was the same thing over and over very salty and tasteless. Need a American cook there. The A/c in bedroom leaked water in bathroom and bedroom. But the biggest thing is the food.

Beware
Food was not good. The rooms are outdated and need a remodel. The maid service was poor, several days our shower towels and coffee condiments were not replenished.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST RESORT EVER!!!! DO NOT GO
The Adults only side only has 2 buffet options, all SPECIALITY restaurants are on the family side. You have to take the train which takes a long time to arrive and even longer to bring you back and it’s not truly walkable ( a few miles)! The food lacks flavor , and we switched rooms from adults only side to the golf side (because that’s all that was available however we wanted the palace) The front desk @ adults only side assisted us as they contacted the call center and arranged the switch . Took my card information and told us to go ahead and go over we will be able to check in. We arrived to the Family side and Carolina Castro assisted us. Not only did we not have a booking upon arrival as promised , we also were assisted by Carolina and she was absolutely terrible. I never want anyone to experience what my mom and I did. We explained to her the situation, she acted like she was calling the call center to help when she wasn’t . She kept laughing at us being frustrated and lacked empathy. I ended calling the call center on my phone to give to her and she was placed on hold by the representative just so they could look into what was going on and Carolina handed the phone back as if the conversation was done and hung up. I called back and the lady stated she placed her on hold and to not hang up she is trying to look into what was goin on. Carolina contacted the adults only side and they confirmed they were aware of us swapping rooms, however it wasn’t showing up in the system , but my card number was taken , very confusing and scary. She then said since we didn’t have one she could just make us a new one. Well she spent an additional 45 min after saying that still trying to get a confirmation number for the previous booking. The agent from the call center stated she didn’t find a confirmation number , however referencing my earlier statement Carolina contacted the adults only side and they in fact confirmed my mom and I transferring , however no one could locate a NEW confirmation number. Carolina truly needs to be trained on how to handle situations like this and overall how to exhibit better customer service to the people that patronize this resort which is how she ultimately makes a living. After spending at least 2 hours at the front desk she was able to book our room , which she should have did from the beginning once she realized the miscommunication . She proceeded to give us new room key bracelets, took payments and then said we couldn’t check in until 3pm and at the time it was 11am. I was livid! After explaining to her all of the mishaps on their end as resort / company , we shouldn’t have been penalized as guests to wait even longer! We explained that we specifically verified we were able to check in immediately otherwise we wouldn’t have left the adults side until it was time to check in. It was Mind boggling. Employees need better training and should be required to be bilingual , especially since most of the guests speak English. The food is terrible all of it! And many guests while I was there agreed. Cooking temperatures weren’t correct . I had a red fish and it was very tuff! Customer service is poor with an exception of the bell man’s / bag service. The adults side only needs some serious renovations in the rooms. The family side has the most up to date rooms. Both the old and new room we occupied were not cleaned thoroughly, dust and debris accumulated all on the headboard and dresser. The shower had left over human hair and black spots , and we had to continually ask for face towels specifically and they would bring 2 at a time as if we would steal them or something. Everything was terrible! This resort is by far a 4.5 star experience / property. I would never come back or recommend this property to anyone that wants a true 4.5/5 star experience. There are so many other great options. I am 30 years old , from Houston , TX. I was there to attend a wedding , otherwise I would have never came.
