Terrible experience! I went for my birthday and I will not return! Upon arrival at check-in time, me and my female friend were placed in separate buildings. When I asked for us to be put together at least in the same building we were told the supervisor was busy! We had to wait while shuttles of people were being checked in! An hour and a half later we were placed in the same building on opposite ends of the hall! It took the supervisor less than 5 minutes to do this! Why would they separate 2 women traveling together??? When I went to my room, I discovered I didn't have any wash clothes. I called the front desk and they said they would contact laundry. After a few hours, I contacted laundry myself. The lady who answered the phone said the towels were being washed! Needless to say, I didn't get any wash clothes for one and a half days! Thank goodness my friend brought disposal wash clothes! What RESORT doesn't keep enough laundered towels for their guests?! In addition, the food was barely warm at every meal. There were iguanas on the property pooping around the pool and the staff would take their time cleaning it up. To get a chair at the pool or in the shade on the beach you have to get up at 6 am and place a towel and your beach bag! Crazy! The entertainment was average but I didn't expect much. Lastly, if you are looking for a partying all inclusive resort, Barcelo is not it! This resort caters to a senior crowd. Which is ok if this is your type of crowd. I booked this hotel through my travel agent under her suggestion without doing my own research. I paid way too much money for the lack luster value I received! Never again!!!

Excellent food and service! Our waiter Harold was a delight and the matrady Edgar was superb! Highly recommended! Very attentive which created a wonderful atmosphere. Both the Grouper and the avocado/crap appitizer were devine. A must if you are staying at the Barcelo.

Love my happy island
My only negative is that they do not have sufficient beach chairs to accommodate their guests, many of which are seniors like me. This upsets me because it has been like this for the eight years that I have visited, and unfortunately they still have not corrected this situation. On my daily walks, I do notice that other hotels prove many beach chairs for their guests. Very disappointing.

We had an amazing dinner at the Arubian the food was superb. But the staff is what makes it incredible. That is what makes a vacation. They are family. O’Dell, Michael, pagan, Mike, Manual, Roberto and Harold. Thank you for your Kindness. This is why I always come back.

Barcelo Aruba resonable but can improve. Bartenders are excellent. Food is average at best. Rooms and location are nice. Very friendly staff.
