Fantastic staff from the cleaners to the management, look out for Frankin and Martires in the lunch poolside restaurant, both great lads nothing is too much trouble, all the girls in the same restaurant were fantastic , (didn’t get there names), beaches very clean and tidy always being worked on, not the sort of place to lose weight lol

Another great vacation at Ambar!
Spent a wonderful week at the Ambar from March 30 to April 6. It was our 4th visit and we were not disappointed. The room was very clean and comfortable. Housekeeping staff did a great job servicing the room. Loved the coffee shop, went at least once a day. We had a nighttime flight and went to the Truck as soon as we checked in and it was very good, so great to have an option to get food and drinks after the lobby bar closes. The drink service at the pool was fantastic. Really enjoyed the food. The buffet and pool restaurant had good options for breakfast and lunch (the only thing missing was the great fajitas we got at the pool restaurant on our visit in 2024). We ate at 6 a la cartes for supper, here they are from 1 to 6 (1 being the best): 1. El Olivo (Gourmet) 2. Yurta (Mongol) 3. Maiko (Japanese) 4. Portofino (Italian) 5. Limbo (Gourmet) 6. MEAT (Steakhouse) All of the staff were amazing, especially Rudy at the pool. Not only did he work tirelessly to keep the pool clean, but he was quick to help all of the guests around the pool; from helping people find loungers to helping set up umbrellas. He came over to greet us when we arrived at the pool every day and really made us feel welcome.

Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar – A Dreamy Birthday Retreat for Couples
We stayed at Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar for a relaxing couples' escape, and it turned out to be just what we needed. Even better—it was extra special for me because I celebrated my birthday there, making the trip even more memorable! The resort is nestled right on Bavaro Beach—one of Punta Cana’s most iconic and beautiful stretches of coastline. It has that perfect tropical vibe with soft white sand, swaying palms, and calm turquoise water. One of the biggest pluses for us was that it’s adults-only. The peaceful, laid-back atmosphere made it easy to unwind and really enjoy our time together without any distractions. The beach was definitely a highlight. We spent hours just lounging, swimming, and walking along the shore. There were always plenty of chairs available, and the whole area felt clean and well taken care of. Our room was spacious and modern, with a super comfy king bed and a quiet balcony where we liked to relax in the evenings. The pool area was also great—chill vibe, good service, and a fun swim-up bar. We booked a few à la carte dinners and really enjoyed them. Limbo had a cool, upscale feel and beautifully plated food. El Olivo served tasty Mediterranean dishes, and Portofino hit the spot with its Italian comfort food. Service at the restaurants was friendly and attentive. The buffet, on the other hand, could use a bit of improvement. The food was decent, but service was hit or miss—tables weren’t always cleared quickly, and it sometimes felt a little chaotic during peak times. That said, we had a great time overall. Bahia Principe Luxury Ambar is a solid choice for couples looking for a beautiful beachfront escape with good food and a calm, adults-only environment. And for me, celebrating my birthday in such a stunning place made it all the more special! We’d definitely recommend it to any couple looking for a relaxing, beachside getaway in Punta Cana.

Nice resort but not a 5 star. lush vegetation and the grounds are beautiful, well kept. You always find something to eat at buffet and we did not go to any restaurants. We were a group of 4 travellers and 2 of us ( wife and I) never been to DR. The rooms are nice and renovated and bathroom is clean with no visible mold. The issue with the room is that is smells very strongly of mildew, the smell is in the pillows and sheets. We have been to other resorts in Mexico and never encountered that smell. We are beach people and that beach is really beautiful BUT if you want to sit in shade and still be able to look at the ocean you need to be up very early, anything past 6am is too late. They also stack chairs very closely so you can literally reach out and touch someone in front or back of you. Staff is amazing, cleaning is amazing, Food at buffet is good but not great. We have noticed that the beach for Ambar is very narrow but deep so there is limited availability for guess and also people from other resorts just show up and take seat, nothing is checked. It’s a nice place and a bit of a party place if you’re in to that. We also noticed that people smoke everywhere on the resort and that was new for us Not a bad place but far from being a 5 star, more like. 3 1/2. Not a place to relax and have quiet time.

TOP NOTCH RESORT
Customer service was top notch. The bartenders & waitresses by the pool were excellent. The Limbo restaurant was excellent. The chef was very good and attentive. The best restaurant by far. Our experience at the Sports Bar was not a good one. They spent more time on their phones. We sat down at a table and wasn’t acknowledged for at least 10 minutes. So we went to the bar to order a drink & we were told a waitress would bring us one….. finally we flagged one down & hesitantly took our drink order. We tip WELL & was surprised at the service there. That’s the only complaint we have with the resort. We plan to return. It’s an amazing resort. Have an amazing time. Very beautiful !! TOP NOTCH
