Worst service and experience I have ever had. We are an easy going family with little to complain about. This scarred us

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in an all inclusive hotel. We got locked out of our room which was a mile away (key card never done correctly), only 2 pillows and 2 towels available, the shower ceiling fell on my wife, more…..

Nice hotel but won’t be going back

An average hotel imo. Buffet wasn’t up to the standard you would expect in 4/5star hotel. Visited the a la carte resurants. Enjoying Brazilian and teppanyaki. Kids club is good. My young kids loved it! And the kids shows which they reherse for are good. The shows they put on.. especially Origen aren’t great. I would see the Origen again even if it was free. 2 bedroom suite the bath flooded all the time. The door didn’t lock 50% of the time and no one came out to repair it on first request. Last few days the safe stopped locking as battery went. I didn’t bother asking for help on that occasion. Overall my kids enjoyed themselves and I met some nice people. But I won’t be rushing back to the resort. I’ll be checking out others

    Solid all inclusive, great staff

This is a solid AI experience in Riveria Maya. We stayed in an outdated room, but we spent very little time there. The beds seemed hard when we arrived but we slept great after a full day in the sun. My biggest complaint is that we had to BATTLE to get dinner reservations. We went with a group of around 20 people and 10 people never got dinner reservations. The a la carte restarants were not full. So it seemed to be a staffing issue. This ended up being a big disappointment and led us to venture outside the resort into town for dinner which was great, but also not why you book an all inclusive vacation for 20 people. What the property lacks in facilities they make up for with staff. Every person we interacted with was great and went above and beyond to remember our preferences and engage with our group on a personal level. Special shoutouts to Erick in Entertainment, Saul in the main buffet and Juan in the sports bar. The staff in the main pool swim up bar were so BUSY and stayed friendly. Overall we'd come again , but probably book Akumal for better chance with a la carte meals.

    TRY it!

First of all, flew into tulum airport...smaller,Way better airport. This put me much closer to the resort.LOts of travel issues, but this is about the resort.BPGT is a pretty BIG place and despite the fact that my room Never had a drop of HOT water,I kept it happily as it was fairly close to the restaurants and entrance/pools ect. Food was awesome...I just ate the buffet as the main restaurants made you jump through lots of hoops to get a reservation.Menu was different every day,but much tastier and more variety than I've seen at other places. Pools were fine and kept pretty clean and bars were awesome with the bartenders being nice and remembering my repeat orders of the day. Ocean NOT Great..Only a small portion of beach that was swimmable. If you just like to set on a chair and stare at it I guess its ok,but Swimming in it is one of the main reasons I travel to Mexico.Red flags were up pretty much eternally but great swimming on the small bit that was open. These guys work SUPER hard to clean the SArgassum(seaweed) off the beach as this stuff is never ending and if it sets for long starts giving off toxic fumes. They have the largest crews dedicated to this I have ever seen in Mexico or the Carribean, which made the ocean great despite being less then perfect. The staff that takes care of Taxis and Excursions are awesome and very little about travel slips through the cracks. If you"re not into walking there are lots of skinny little trucks called "collectivos" that will take you around the resort.(i like to walk).Just be careful as the pathways are not that wide and these guys are constantly going at a pretty good clip. GRound floor I had ants and some small wasps in my patio area and there was generally ALOT of diverse wildlife allover the resort. The Grackles fly in and out of the food areas all day long which seems to make some people uneasy-but NEVER seen a drop of poop from these birds! They are not like doves or pigeons, they seem super smart and obviously dont poop where they eat. cuati and agouti around as well and more Iguanas than Ive EVER seen in one location, but Hey...Its the jungle! Overall Ill give it a 4 because of the cold water thing and the Iffy beach situation-But still one of the best values for the money Ive seen!

    Pleasantly Surprised

We were a a family of grandparents, parents, and a 4 year old who went here for a week. I had been to other all-inclusives and wasn't expecting the best experience. However, I found the accommodations to be clean, the food to be of decent quality with abundant selection, the alcohol selection to be quite good (without huge lineups), nice pools, enough entertainment to keep us busy, a good fitness centre, very good service, etc. We had a leaky air conditioner, had to search for good pool chairs in the shade, and waited for check in etc but really no significant complaints. The hotel has lots for little ones including water slides, kiddy pools, a playground, movies, etc. We would go again.
