It was a very relaxing week
This is my 5th time at this resort and my first time going solo. I felt very safe at this resort. The food was amazing, as always and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The beach is beautiful, and always clean. I’ll be back, this is my happy place 🥰

The next day without hot water, possibly many more to come because the employees are careless and unprofessional. It's a shame that this hotel loses value with each passing day. This is my second time here and a consecutive customer with Bahía Príncipe for 5 years, but the respect for tourists is lacking. I asked for a natural fruit cocktail, I was told that they don't have just syrups, but there were local tourists two steps away, of course they found fruit for the locals. Being a gold customer I have a discount on some but they make discounts as they please and if they want. The rooms of course are not renovated or just repaired in a hurry. Everyone wants to bribe you everywhere, if you don't wait until they finish their endless Dominican stories mainly at the pool bar, some employees at the bar at 12 o'clock are already drunk, others come to you and ask you to bring them drinks for them too. A total lack of control, there are no rules and no bosses or sanctions for employees, just for tourists.

Awesome resort, looking forward to returning !
Amazing clean place. Food WOW except Brazilian. Mattress in my suite a little hard. We had a great time outside the sports bar after dinner but unfortunately, as the week progressed, there was less and less entertainment personnel. That sort of made the evening dwindle. The big shows were just ok. The beach is amazing, perfect for long walks and snorkeling. You cannot reserve a chair at the beach before 8 am which is amazing (customer service actually pick up stuff from chairs). That way no stress. Go to breakfast and enjoy your day.

Nice place to celebrate
It was our second time at El Portillo since 2019 and we have seen many changes/ renovations as to accommodations, the restaurant area, with adding spaces for relaxation. The personnel is very welcoming and I was amazingly surprised by their attention to having me on my birthday : The “Happy Birthday” band was applied on our door at our return from the excursion that day and a bottle of french champaign with chocolates were left on the table inside the room Thanks 🙏🌷💐to manager’s , Kiaro Michel Andujar Fermin’s attentional and kind idea to have something very special for you on your date! I will keep that sensation as a nice memory of this hôtel♥️🥰! Everything was great: the staff, the food, the resort’s size, the beach! I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to expérience Samana. Thank you for the memories Bahia Principe!!

Good resort but need to address lack of beach loungers.
Overall really enjoyed the visit. The resort is small so easy to get around. The rooms were a little dated but very clean and well maintained. Buffet was really good with a wide variety and changes every meal (and hot). A La cartes were hit and miss - Italian was great, French just OK, Brazilian not great. Lunch bar on the beach had great burgers. Service was really good. Any issues I had were dealt with quickly and properly. Drinks were good and the bartenders paid attention to details especially at the sports bar. I found the staff very friendly and happy to help guests. If you want to go for walks the beaches are great in both directions (I would recommend walking to the Mosquito bar). My only real beef with the resort was the beach loungers. The first 3-4 days of our trip there were not enough and one day someone accused my wife of stealing loungers and belongings when in fact it was security that took them because the people "reserved" them at 5:30 AM with towels. This could easily be fixed with more chairs and stricter enforcement of those "reserving" chairs. Overall really enjoyed the visit.
