MOLD IN MY ROOM
We stayed at Marriott Athens in September 2024 with our kids. We started feeling sick immediately. Sniffles, post nasal drip, sore throats and a cough. On the day we were checking out we noticed that there was black mold in our vents. We lived in a house with black mold for five years until 2022 and staying here immediately triggered all our symptoms as the mold was blowing into the room from the vent. I made them aware at checkout, they said they’d contact me. Marriott Athens has blatantly ignored all my emails since September. After complaining to head office they finally replied & offered me $60 in points when my stay was $1600, that was November 1st. I declined because of their horrible communication and lack of respect and asked for a refund. I’ve followed up weekly and have not heard from them since. (Today is Dec 17) Today I decided to post the reviews and they have blocked me on Instagram. This is literally my family’s health. If you know anything about mood, you know how TERRIBLE this is. And they don’t even have the decency to reply. You should avoid this hotel, not only because of the mold, but also because of the terrible and inconsiderate service from those who run it.

i am now in the hotel as a guest
The Marriott Hotel in Athens is not the same Marriott as in other destinations the rooms are very small the Marriott club has a small menu and very limited time for excess I have spent here more then 200 nights and have never been upgraded to a suite room. But... The staff are very nice and friendly giving you extremely the best as possible for your hospitality

Quick business trip...in and out!
Traveled to Athens from the US for a quick work meeting and stayed here 2 nights. I booked it through the website as the meeting was actually being held at the hotel. The hotel was in a very convenient area and close to my local office. The room was big enough, bed/pillows were comfy and the shower had great pressure with decent amenities. The only problem, if you call it that at all, was that the ac in the room wasn't that cold but I spoke to my colleagues who were also staying and they said they told the front desk and the ac was switched on. It wasn't that cold out, but being from the northeast, we are spoilt! The staff at the hotel were excellent and that includes the restaurant crew. I managed to have dinner in the restaurant the first night and was delicious. The grilled octopus was awesome and I ordered the pork souvlaki. Both were great but one point is to add an extra pita bread with the pork souvlaki. All in all, I'd stay here again, well done!

Shame on Marriott
Checked into this so-called "junior suite," which turned out to be nothing more than a glorified broom closet. The room looked nothing like the heavily photoshopped images they advertised—false advertising at its finest. I requested a room change and was given another "suite," this time with a deafening A/C unit, a broken window, a jammed door, scratched-up furniture, and a pervasive stench of urine in the hallway. This place doesn’t come anywhere close to Marriott standards. It’s a rundown, cheap, and poorly maintained motel masquerading as a hotel, with a few napkins and generic stationery slapped with the Marriott logo to fool you. I asked to speak with the duty manager and, unsurprisingly, never received a callback. Ended up enduring the first night on an uneven bed with earplugs just to block out the chaos. The nightmare continued. After breakfast, I returned to find my door left wide open by housekeeping. No staff in sight, no accountability—just blatant disregard for guests' belongings and security. To make matters worse, the elevators don’t even require a room key, meaning anyone off the street can stroll right up to your door. This place is an absolute joke and a glaring security risk. Marriott should be ashamed to have its name attached to this disgrace.
