Hyatt Location Shines, But Room for Improvement

Better-than-average Hyatt, but felt more like a Category 5–6 property. Positives: • Excellent location with easy access to a fantastic beach • Seamless check-in and friendly, attentive service • Good amenities; morning yoga was a highlight • Family-friendly: our kids really enjoyed the pool Areas for improvement: • Breakfast buffet was decent, but the hot food selection was limited and the fresh fruit lacked flavor • Shower temperature fluctuated unpredictably, which frightened our 3-year-old; switching to the bath revealed only hot water was available • We found a half-dead roach in front of the TV on our first morning, which was unsettling Overall: While the hotel provided a few enjoyable amenities and solid service, the real highlight of our stay was the beachfront location. The property itself didn’t significantly elevate our Maui experience and fell short of what we’ve come to expect from higher-tier Hyatt hotels.

    Toddler central

This hotel is baby central! I understood it to be sort of an adults hotel, with families preferring the next door Grand Wailea. not so! the Andaz is the favorite for the 3 and under kids. So, so many infants, babies and toddlers. Easily 50-70% of the tables in the restraint had toddlers. The pool was 90% parents with kids. It isn't bad, but if you want a relaxing kid free vacation this is not the place. My room was VERY small, a miniature couch, kid sized. cramped bathroom behind a maze of louvered doors. $1350 per night. The furnishings are very worn. The location is great. Nice pools. Self serve Breakfast buffet ($121 for two) is included in room rate

    Amazing experience

Unbelievable, 10/10 and I would absolutely go again. The food, pools, beach and amenities were first class. The staff were all incredible and professional. The location is ideal and within walking distance to shopping, dining and beaches.

    Paradise

My partner and I got married in Maui and chose to stay at the beautiful Andaz Wailea resort. From the moment we arrived, the entire team went above and beyond to make us feel special, especially those at Ka’ana Kitchen. Jenny was smiling and full of energy during breakfast each morning. Her passion for serving others shines and she truly exemplifies the Aloha spirit. We would like to send a shout out to Matt as well. He takes time to get to know and connect with his guests and offered suggestions for activities on the island. We were assigned a room with gorgeous pool and ocean views. Waking up and looking out into paradise each day was refreshing. Some have commented that rooms are on the smaller side but we felt there was plenty of space for the two of us. The shower was heavenly. We loved the Malie Organics bath products and even purchased some to take home. It felt like we had our own personal spa. The housekeeping staff made sure to thoroughly clean and organize our things each day. The special touches like arranging our leis in a heart shape were thoughtful and appreciated. The valet crew was busy but efficient and we never had to wait more than 10-15 minutes for our car. One day, we walked to a nearby resort for drinks and they quickly sent the courtesy vehicle to pick us up after we were a bit tired from the sun exposure on our walk there. This was my seventh time to Maui. After staying elsewhere before, the Andaz has become my favorite resort. I highly recommend it to others looking for a refined and upscale experience with a peaceful vibe, relatively few children, and truly outstanding service.

    Our new favorite Hawaiian resort

Absolutely love this resort. We had an ocean view room with a quick short walk to the almost private resort beach. The breakfast buffet was so delicious and the mochi waffles were my personal favorite! As soon as you walk into the stunning open air lobby and see the ocean view, you know it was going to be a good start. Everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We used the provided bike cruisers to ride to the near by shops which was a plus. Can't wait to return again!
