BIG warning to any potential guests... watch out for this hotel and their blatantly predatory charges and predatory policies!! We just stayed here for 2 nights and they charged my card an additional $500+ for "damages" because we were the most recent guests to pass through an automatic opening door to the hotel LOBBY when the door came off the track. (We spoke to the workers who were putting the door back on the track and asked them if this was unusual and they said it comes off the track "all the time". Security staff said the same.) Imagine my shock when, 2 hours prior to checkout time, we were subjected to these bizzare and outrageous accusations and behavior from hotel staff. Their accusations were as inconsistent as their descriptions of the guest they claimed was responsible. The manager refused to show us the video and demonstrated a complete lack of scruples. Management felt the need to place blame, charges, and alienate their guests for their own maintenance expenses.. If there was any competent management at this hotel this injustice never would have happened. Guests should be prepared to face absurd accusations, hidden charges, and fraudulent charges rather than hospitality. Avoid this nightmare and book elsewhere. Management charged me $1,000! for a 2-night stay that I originally booked for under $300. Once hotel management gets access to your credit card you are at their mercy. Be prepared to pay $1,000 for a 2 night stay. Especially sucks when you don't have $1,000. Avoid this tourist trap like the plague. Management has no shame, especially Lawrence.

Apr 06, 2025Decent but expensive parking
Nice hotel within walking distance of Waikiki Beach and it’s not exactly on the busy stretch so that suits us. There’s a humongous mall next to it so it’s really convenient to get everything you need and nice to explore. The service was decent and there was a lot of parking. Room was spacious enough but are more dated. There’s a slight dank smell to our room and the toilet flush would malfunction (continuously run) occasionally. The room was clean at the beginning but as the days progressed, the housekeeping did a fair job. Could have been cleaner. there’s good safe parking below but it’s pretty expensive. Be prepared.

Great hotel near shopping centre
Good hotel right next to the shopping centre. We stayed in a basic room which was quite small. Bathroom was small as well and the shower was not great. Tea/coffee was provided and a microwave which was great. Definitely would stay here again but maybe an upgraded room.

This was my first time back to Hawaii after 37 years and the first time for my wife. The team at the hotel made us feel very welcome. The service was fantastic. We had cocktails on the top floor during happy hour one night and went back a second time for full dinner. Very close to the Aka Moana shopping centre and only a few minutes to downtown Waikiki. Highly recommend the Hotel. We will be back

Jan 19, 2025Going back to HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS next yr…
Im still here-leaving tuesday. But something specific is missing-was in my checkin bag when we got here-gone when i wentvto get it last night(saturday)—wanted to wear it today. I already know mentioning anything to hotel mgmt will achieve nothing. Im only letting other future guests know-so theyre aware. When u stay at a ‘pricier’hotel during higher occupancy-you have this false sense of security and trust. Never again. It isnt the item or its value bc it wasnt expensive—-its the principle—i never buy myself anything. All of it goes to my kids first-this whole trip is for one of my kids-but i bought myself a new sweater just so i could have something cozy to wear while i watched her compete in her vball tournament this mirning. Was the first thing I packed. I guess it looked cozy to whoever left w it also. I’ll at least let front desk know for tmrw-no need to clean out my rm until i check out—thx ala moana
