The fabulous part of having a destination wedding is already being in the best locations for honeymoons. Lots of our couples decide to extend their stay in destination and take their honeymoon immediately following the wedding. However, there can be one issue – a lot of your friends and family will still be there. That’s why heading off to another resort can be ideal. Privacy is important for a honeymoon after all. These are our picks for some of our favorite resort combinations for weddings and honeymoons that are only a short shuttle ride away. Wedding: Generations Riviera Maya | Honeymoon: El Dorado Maroma

Generations Riviera Maya is an all-oceanfront, all-butler resort that is also family-friendly, so all ages of guests are welcome. Ceremonies on the pier here are gorgeous, but the Chapel is also amazing! When you are ready to get away from the kiddos, we recommend your next stop be El Dorado Maroma. This adults-only resort is only minutes away from Generations Rivera Maya and is located on Maroma Beach, which is lauded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, and the over-water bungalows are a spectacular honeymoon spot. Quiet and romantic, it’s perfect for any newlyweds looking for the ultimate in relaxation, but also close enough to Maroma Marina for exciting water adventures.

Wedding: Royalton Negril | Honeymoon: Hideaway at Royalton Negril

Royalton Negril is chic, modern, and a resort that is open to guests of all ages along the white sands of Jamaica. The views from the Sky Terrace are an incredible backdrop to a destination wedding. For our honeymoon recommendation, you won’t need to go far. Hideaway at Royalton Negril is on the same grounds as Royalton Negril, but still separate. It’s the perfect resort to enhance your honeymoon, and it is of course adults-only.
