Aromatherapy Meets Beach Bliss

Travel-lovers know that a vacation is more than just time away from the office or the chance to lounge on a beach (though we agree, those are some highlights). When we travel the world, we’re engaging with the full, sensory experience of a new and exciting place. We take in the sights—the colorful local markets, the moss on ancient ruins, the sunset seeping into the sea. We taste the layered flavors of a perfect mole in Mexico. We hear the intoxicating rhythm of Cumbia music in Costa Rica. We feel the warmth of pink Bahamian sand underfoot.

But of all your senses, the sense of smell is actually the one most linked to your memories and emotions. It’s why the smell of pine trees immediately makes you think of Christmas, or why a whiff of a burning fire can transport you back to your childhood camping trips, instantly. So, it’s no surprise that the use of tropical-inspired essential oils can do a lot to whisk you away to a hammock on a white-sand beach, without leaving your home.

Maybe now’s the perfect time to pick up a new sandalwood soap for your shower or to add a bit of jasmine to your essential oil diffuser. A few deep breaths and you’ll feel like you’re on a sensory vacay.
