First timers!
I had this resort bookmarked for a couple of years, but was hesitant that it may not be lively enough for us compared to other resorts we had visited in the past. I am glad we pulled the trigger because the property is absolutely breathtaking! There are so many activities offered, but we are pool people, so we spent literally ALL day every day at the pool enjoying the music, foam party and bull riding and then tried to stay up long enough to enjoy the nightly live music after dinner. The food at the themed restaurants was the best quality we have ever had at a resort, along with most of the cocktails. We only had to wait one night for about 25 minutes while we were there to get into the restaurant we wanted to have dinner at and that is likely because we had dinner later in the evening that night. Other than that, our group of 6 were able to get into any restaurant without any wait. Service was great, staff were warm and friendly. Check in/out was fairly quick and highly organized. I was thoroughly impressed when we received calls asking if we needed housekeeping to tend to our room on a particular day and then calling to confirm we did not need the original airport transfer that was arranged (we had paid extra for a private shuttle and I had cancelled the original with the shuttle company, but they had still sent a driver). Overall, I 100% see why there are so many repeat guests who return to this resort. I don't think this will be our last trip either.

First VIM Experience
We had an amazing first trip to VIM, the property was extremely well kept and thoughtfully laid out. It was bigger than we expected, but golf carts are always around to give rides to and from the lobby. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially our building concierge Paola!! who went out of her way to get us reservations and advice. The variety of daily activities was refreshing, and the Go Team leaders were upbeat and enthusiastic. The only downside was the ocean being rough this week, and the red flag prevented us from jet skiing. Overall, we had an amazing first experience and can’t wait to return!

April Vacation
My family and I had an amazing experience at Riviera Maya and I just wanted to give a huge shout-out to Alfonso, the bartender. His service was exceptional—he’s got a great attitude, makes perfect drinks, and really knows how to make you feel welcome. A true professional! Highly recommend this spot, and make sure to ask for Alfonso when you go!!

Beautiful Grounds, Good Food, But Some Drawbacks
We stayed at this resort at the end of March and had an overall good experience, though there were a few things that could be better. The Good: The resort is set in beautiful, well-maintained jungle grounds, creating a really peaceful vibe. The food was good—huge breakfast and lunch buffets with tons of variety, plus à la carte options for both meals if you prefer something more personal. There are six themed restaurants, with two or three that were particularly great. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The Imperial Band provided some great entertainment, too. The Bad: Check-in took over an hour, and we spent most of that time just sitting and waiting without any updates from staff, which was a bit frustrating. Also, the ocean wasn’t great for swimming during our stay. We were told later by some local people that it is typical for this area during early spring. The waves were huge, and there was quite a bit of seaweed washing up. The Ugly: There was ongoing construction right on the beach, with heavy machinery and jackhammers working from 8 AM to 6 PM every day except Sunday. It was hard to ignore, especially when trying to relax by the water. Unfortunately, this construction will likely continue for at least another year. Final Thoughts: Overall, the resort is beautiful, with good food, excellent service, and well-kept grounds. However, the slow check-in, rough ocean conditions, and noise from construction did put a bit of a damper on things.

Good resort for quiet lazy river. Be prepared for not great food and long waits.
Rooms. Shower is terrible, trickles out. Super small spray. Goes hot and cold the entire time you’re in it. Restaurants. Tried all the Themed ones except Mediterranean. The only one that was ok was the French. The problem is they don’t serve the traditional kind of food each one says it is, and just not much flavor. Best one for breakfast is the steak house at the beach. Mar y Tierra. The best one for lunch is buffet. Dinner is again the steak house. Restaurant service was ok. A lot of waiting time, for drinks and or food in all restaurants. Service at the lazy river for drinks and food was better, however the food is just ok. Room service was Basic. Takes around 45 minutes. Pools. If you want a chair get up at 5am to put towels on them because they are gone by 7am. If you want loud activity pool, that’s the main pool. Lazy River was much quieter and laid back. It’s a nice resort, love the adults only. It’s clean and beautiful. Biggest complaint is the food. We have been to several different resorts in the Riviera Maya. 8 I can think of. So I am comparing from our favorites. For the same price I can go to a better resort, I won’t name any because this is just about Valentín Imperial.
